A man appeared in court accused of attempted robbery in Portlaoise. 

Robert Dwane(31) of 25 Mountain View, Portlaoise, is accused of attempted robbery on the Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise, on October 4,  attempted robbery at Greenmill Lane, Portlaoise on September 28 and possession of cocaine at O’Moore Place, Portlaoise on October 13, 2025. 

Detective Garda Padraic Ryan said the cocaine could be dealt with in the district court as it was €5 worth. He requested four weeks for directions from the DPP in relation to the alleged attempted robberies. 

Judge Susan Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on December 1 and said the defendant could appear by video link.
