Accused of stealing cycling shorts from Laois sports store

The man appeared before Portlaoise District Court

A man appeared in court accused of stealing from a sports shop in Portlaoise. 

Ashton O’Shea (18) of 58 Hillview Drive, Knockmay, Portlaoise, is accused of stealing Under Armour bicycle shorts and gloves from Lifestyle Sports, Kyle Shopping Centre, Portlaoise on November 19, 2025. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said it was alleged the man had stolen the items which were valued at €69. 

Judge Susan Fay ordered disclosure to include CCTV and granted legal aid to Anne Doyle BL. She adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on December 22.
