A man is to face trial for allegedly laundering €7,500 in Laois

A book of evidence has been served on a man who is accused of laundering in Laois. 

Afolabi Solanke (55) of 23 Sli Na Mona, Edenderry Road, Portarlington, is accused of money laundering a sum of €7,500 in Laois on a date between April 14 and August 7, 2023. 

Garda Lisa Murray gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court

Garda Sergeant Jason Hughes said the DPP has consented to the case being sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court sitting on February 17, 2026. 

Judge Susan Fay issued the alibi warning and sent the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Criminal Court on February 17. She remanded the defendant on bail and granted legal aid for a solicitor and one counsel in the case.
