A BMW driver looks set for a court appearance after being stopped for speeding on the motorway by Laois Gardaí.
The motorists was stopped after being detected driving at 144kph in a 120kph zone on the M7 in Laois.
“Weather forecast: Poor decisions with a 100% chance of court. On the M7, during a yellow weather warning, a white BMW was clocked at 144 km/h,” Gardaí stated.
The said driving conditions were bad due to wet roads.
“When stopped, the driver was found to be disqualified from driving which made the journey less “commute” and more pushing their luck,” Gardaí stated.
They arrested the driver who is expected to appear at Portlaoise District Court at a later date.
