Laois gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Main Street, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois on Wednesday January 28.
The collision involving a car and a male pedestrian, aged in his 70s, occurred at approximately 7pm.
The pedestrian was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore where he was later pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are renewing their appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 28th January 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
