Man accused of possessing drugs for sale or supply in Laois

A book of evidence was served on a man who is accused of having drugs for sale or supply in Laois. 

Dara Dixon (27) of 155 Whitefields, Station Road, Portarlington is accused of having drugs for sale or supply at his address on July 23, 2024. 

Garda Lisa Murray told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that she had served the book of evidence on the defendant at Portlaoise Courthouse.

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said there were five charges in total in the book of evidence and the DPP had directed that the accused should be sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court beginning on February 17. 

Judge Susan Fay issued the alibi warning and sent the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court sitting on February 17. 

She granted legal aid for one solicitor and one barrister and remanded the defendant on bail.
