Laois man on alleged child pornography charge to be tried in circuit court

Garda Lisa Murray served a book of evidence on a man accused of possessing child pornography when he came before last week’s sitting of Portlaoise District Court.

The 51-year-old who cannot be named due to the nature of the charge is alleged to have been in possession of the pornography in his home on dates between 14 January and 11 February 2019.

Judge Andrew Cody sent the man forward for trial to the 14 May sitting of Naas Circuit Criminal Court and gave him an alibi warning instructing him that he must notify gardaí in writing within 14 days if he wished to rely on an alibi in his defence.
