Laois Offaly Gardaí investigating the theft of a traditional Currach boat have issued an update on the investigation.
They said the boat that was stolen in the Banagher on the River Shannon in Co Offaly has now been located.
“Update: As a result of this post and it being shared by the Community in Banagher a gentleman out walking discovered the currach and it has now been returned to its owner with some slight damage.
The answer to its theft lies within the community so any information on the "boatmen" that took it would be very much appreciated,” Gardaí stated.
Gardaí earlier said: “This is a distinctive, traditional boat and would be easily recognised.”
