Woman failed to appear in Portlaoise court because she was attacked by dog

Portlaoise Courthouse

A woman who had been due to attend Portlaoise District Court last week was unable to do so because, a few days before, she had been attacked by a dog.

So, her solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick told Judge Andrew Cody when her client Eadaoin Murphy (38), Woodstown Meadow, Knocklyon, Dublin 16 failed to attend.

She had been charged with failing to provide a specimen and to driving while uninsured at Cappakeel, Portlaoise on 30 January.

Judge Andrew Cody remanded Ms Murphy on continuing bail to 23 April and told Ms Fitzpatrick that her client must attend on that date.
