A woman who was caught speeding was fined €500 and disqualified from driving for five years.
Margaret Carthy, 40, of St Rioch’s Court, St Rioch’s Street, Kilkenny was caught driving a BMW at 116kmh in a 100 zone at Carroweagh, Durrow on December 13, 2021.
Garda Stephen O’Hanlon said a fixed charge penalty notice was issued but went unpaid. The woman had 118 previous convictions and was driving while disqualified and on temporary release from Limerick Prison at the time, he told the court.
Judge Andrew Cody fined the woman €500 and disqualified her from driving for five years.
