Monasterevin murder accused released on bail after man dies

A man charged with attempted murder was released from custody today after it emerged that the alleged victim had died.

Dwayne Keane, (26) of Drogheda Street, Monasterevin, was charged in November last year at Dublin District Court with the attempted murder of a 42-year-old man at Raheen Drive in Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot on November 1, 2016. The 42-year-old has subsequently died from an unrelated cause.

Mr Keane was remanded in custody until today Wednesday, when Justice Patrick McCarthy at the Central Criminal Court granted bail on condition that he sign on twice a week at Rathcoole Garda Station and enter his own bond of €200.
