Cars set on fire on 'unofficial' rally track in Portlaoise

A number of cars have been burnt out in a Portlaoise field which is used as an unofficial rally track.

Laois Gardaí  and the Laois Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of the fire this afternoon, Tuesday, March 6.

Theye responded to call that a number of cars were on fire at the field located behind O'Moore Place off the Mountmellick Road.

A witness told the Leinster Express that the cars are used for 'rallying' mainly during the summer. 

No injuries are reported.
