Two men have appeared in court in Portlaoise arising from a burglary on the outskirts of the Laois town.
Gardai say they arrested the suspects after a raid on Saturday, February 16.
Sometime after the pair, aged in their 20s and 30s, were stopped in a vehicle in Portlaoise.
Property recovered when the men were detained is suspected have been taken during the burglary from a commercial premises. Copper was found when the men were apprehended.
Both males were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
They were questioned in custody about a number of burglaries in Portlaoise.
They appeared before Portlaoise District Court on Tuesday, February 19 charged with a number of offences.
One male was remanded in custody while the other was released on bail.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions with directions on further charges.
