Another batch of Electric Picnic drug possession cases are being heard at a packed courthouse in Portlaoise.

For the second week running the court was full of people on charges arising from the festival held in Stradbally, Co Laois.

The courtroom was full of people on Tuesday mornings, March 5 and 11 with concertgoers whose fun was dampened after being found with drugs during garda searches last September.

Young people from across Ireland were summoned to the District Court after being found in possession of drugs at the three-day event.

Judge Catherine Staines is hearing the cases prosecuted by Laois Gardaí.
