A teenager appeared in court accused of burglary at an address in Laois.

The boy (15), who has a Laois address and cannot be named due to his age, is accused of burglary at an address in Portlaoise between February 15 and 18, 2023.

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said it was alleged that a window was broken and power tools valued at €850 were stolen in the burglary.

Solicitor Philip Meagher said he was “unable to assist in the normal way” due to the ongoing dispute over legal aid.

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on September 28.
