The late Margaret Byrne (née Styles) and her brother the late Joe Styles, who died four days apart.
The sister of an elderly Laois man has sadly died just two days after his funeral.
Joe Styles from Portlaoise had passed away on December 30, aged 89. His funeral took place last Thursday, January 2, celebrated by Monsignor John Byrne with a lovely poem composed in his memory read by his grandniece. The funeral had a guard of honour by Portlaoise GAA club, of which the late Mr Byrne was a former player and lifelong supporter.
Among those watching the funeral online, was his beloved sister Margaret Byrne (née Styles), who lived in Boughlone, Mountrath road Portlaoise.
Sadly Mrs Byrne herself passed away, peacefully on Saturday, January 4.
Margaret Byrne was predeceased by her adored husband Terry and parents Elizabeth and George, brothers George, Paddy, Liam and Joe and sisters Nell and Elizabeth.
Her passing is deeply regretted by her heartbroken children Liz, Ken and Terry and their partners Michael, Ann and Sandy, her grandchildren Shane, Niall, Jamie, Molly and Caoimhe, her brothers John and Noel, her sisters Bid and Mary, her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
