The death occurred of Stella McHugh (née Burke) Clondarrig, Portlaoise, on January 24 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late P.J. and dearly loved mother to Olive, Carmel, John, and Edel. Cherished grandmother to Danny, John, David, Charlotte, Laura, Robyn, Paddy , Esme, Martha, James, Stella and Florence. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Sisters Patricia, Anita, Helen, Carmel, and brother John, sons in law Brian, Cathal, Kevin and daughter in law Katie, brothers in law, sisters in law. nephews, nieces, relatives and neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Saturday from 6.30 pm until 8 pm. With Rosary at 7.30 pm. On Sunday, funeral arriving at St Fintans Church Ballyfin, for 2pm requiem Mass. Interment will follow in Clondarrig Cemetery.

Late Eileen Connolly - Portarlington

The death has occurred of Eileen Connolly (née Ryan), Spa Street, Portarlington late of Clonuff, Broadford, Co. Kildare unexpectedly at home on January 21.

Predeceased by her grand-daughter Makayla. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, husband Ray, children Michael, Mandy, Lisa, Darren and Mark, grandchildren Tyler, Aimee, Leighton, Malachy, Blake, Charlie, Dylan, Aaron and Joey, brothers Christy and Micháel, daughters-in-law Linda and Josephine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of Barbara Anne Delaney, Esker, Ballyfin formerly of Greenmill Lane/ St. Brigids, Portlaoise and late of Esker, Ballyfin.

Passed away peacefully on January 23 surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of nurses and staff of Tullamore Hospital. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Brendan, her son Kieran, and brothers Shawn and Robert. Adored mother of Angela, Kelley, Tracy, Brendan, Sean and Laura. Deeply regretted by her loving family; brother Neil, sister June, grandchildren, great-grandson, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law Linda and Lesley, close friends Margaret and Geraldine, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Mary Ita Hyland - Portarlington

The death has occurred of Mary Ita Hyland (née Greaney) Lea Road, Portarlington, Laois peacefully on January 22 in her sleep while in the tender care of the staff of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise.

She was predeceased by her husband Joe, daughters Noreen and Bernadette and her son Darby. Mary Ita will be sadly missed by her loving family Jim, Joe, Declan, Philomena and Martha along with her extended family, grandsons and granddaughters to whom she was very close with, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Friday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 10:20am arriving St John's Church, Killenard for Requiem Mass at 11am after which Mary Ita will be laid to rest in the adjoining Cemetery.

Teresa Kealy - Ballylinan

The death has occurred of Teresa Kealy (née Cranny) Athy, Kildare / Ballylinan, Laois and late of Enfield, London who passed away suddenly in the loving care of the staff of St. Theresas Care Home, Bush Hill Park, London on December 22.

She was predeceased by her husband Sean and deeply regretted by her daughters Maria (Mitchell), Margaret, Michele and her son John. Grandchildren John, David, Lucy, Victoria and Harriet. Great grandchildren Zachary, Matilda, Joshua, India, Hudson and Finley. nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives, extended family and friends.

Teresa's Requiem Mass in London will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. George, Enfield, on 29th January followed by repatriation from London to Athy.

Teresa will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mt. Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Wednesday, 5th February 2025, from 2.30pm until removal at 4.30pm to St. Ann's Church, Ballylinan, Co. Laois for reception prayers at 5pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, 6th February, at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard (Dick) brothers Eddie, Maurice, Mick, Billy and sisters Kathleen and Angela. Joan Delaney (née Bowden), Clonburren, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, January 20th. 2025 unexpectedly at Fennor Care Facility, Urlingford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Martin and her parents Nicholas and Kathleen. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trish Kelley, née Lawlor (Nurse Kelley, Glenard Clinic) after an illness bourne with great courage and dignity, surrounded by her loving family, friends and the staff of Dún Aine (St. Vincent's, CNU Mountmellick). Beloved wife of the late Eddy.

Trish was deeply loved by her brothers Michael (R.I.P.) John, Dermot, Gerry and sister Doris (Flannery) and by her extended family and friends who she cherished. R.I.P.

Thomas O'Connor - Mountmellick

The death has occurred of Thomas O’Connor, 1 Lord Edward St, Mountmellick, Co. Laois and late of Shronebeirne, Kilmorna, Listowel, Co. Kerry. Thomas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Tallaght University Hospital on Sunday 19th January 2025 after being taken ill suddenly the previous Friday. Thomas is predeceased by his father Jimmy, his mother Betty and his baby sister Carmel.
