RIP: Jim Fingleton
Heartfelt tributes have rushed in for popular Laois man Jim Fingleton following his recent passing.
Jim passed away suddenly on the 8th February, 2025.
Jim will be missed deeply by his loving wife Elizabeth, his daughters Anna, Louise and Ciara, sons Stephen and Patrick and his grandchildren Ella and Florence.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken brothers John, Chris and Barry, sisters Bride and Shelia and by his extended family and friends.
Countless heartfelt messages were paid to Jim on RIP.ie.
"We are so deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s untimely death. Sincerest sympathy to you Liz, Anna, Louise, Ciara, Stephen, Patrick, grandchildren & wider family; Our condolences also to John, Chris, Barry, Bride, Sheila & extended family; You are in our hearts, thoughts & prayers. Jim leaves us with wonderful, joyful memories & tales of the various interactions with him & the family during our years in Dunboyne; Forever young, Jim is gone far too soon. Go raibh leaba i measc na naomh agat Jim," one message read.
Another person said, "Sincere condolences to John and all the Fingleton Family. Jim was such a great character, who made me smile every time he visited or rang the office during my time at Fingleton White. May Jim Rest in Peace".
"Liz, Anna, Louise,Ciara, Stephen and Patrick we are heartbroken for you. Jim was a unique person. He was our great friend and a wonderful source of fun. He was the only person to come into our house and head straight for the fridge to see what it contained. He was never impressed. Our sincerest condolences to you all as well as to Chris, Barry, Sheila and all the extended Fingleton family. May he rest in peace. We are so sorry that we are unable to attend his funeral but we will be following it online," another message read.

Funeral Arrangements:
Jim will repose at his home at Model Farm, Athy on Thursday and Friday from 2pm until 7pm.
A celebration of his life will take place at 11am on Saturday the 15th of February at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy.
There will be a burial afterwards in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.
