Geraldine Dempsey (née Holohan) - Offaly, Kildare, Portarlington 

The death has occurred of Geraldine Dempsey (née Holohan) Brooklodge, Cloncassion, Clonbullogue, Offaly / Rathangan, Kildare / Portarlington, Laois. Geraldine passed away bravely at Beaumont Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family: husband Mark, daughter Jane, son Harry and his partner Hannah, parents Alice and Fintan, brothers Simon, James and John, sister Fiona, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Geraldine's Funeral Mass will take place on Monday ( August 4) at 11am in The Church of the Assumption and St. Patrick, Rathangan followed by burial in St. Patrick's cemetery, Rathangan. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Irish Heart Foundation. House Strictly Private Please.

Annie Kirwan - Abbeyleix

The death has occurred of  Annie Kirwan (née Lalor), Boley, Abbeyleix, peacefully at home in her 93rd year.

Pre-deceased by her husband Edward (Ned) and siblings Brigid, Mary, Tommy, Kathleen,Alice, Teresa and Paddy. Much loved mother of Marian, Ann, Claire, Eamonn, Danny, Bernadette, Bridget, Patricia and Martina. Adored daughter-in-law Catherine and cherished sons-in-law Jack, Bernard, Matthew, Patrick, Ger and Denjoe. Deeply regretted by her brother Donal Lalor. Sadly missed by her adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence R32W314 on Friday, August 1, from 3 pm to 8 pm with Rosary at 6 pm. Removal to The Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix on Saturday for 11 am. Requiem Mass. Internment afterwards in St. Brigid's Cemetery Shanahoe.

William (Bill) Lynch - Mountmellick

The death has occurred of William (Bill) Lynch New Ireland Rd, Rialto, Dublin / Mountmellick originally from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

Pre-deceased by his father William from Mountmellick and mother Mary (Carrickmacross), Bill made his home in Rialto, Dublin along with his pre-deceased wife Mary (neé Drumm), who passed in 2003.

Bill dedicated his life to education, having spent time both in Ireland and in Kenya with the Patrician Brothers teaching, before moving into educational curriculum development and in later years lecturing, having recently been awarded his Doctorate in Education.

Bill had a brief battle with cancer and peacefully succumbed to his illness, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday 30th July 2025 aged 73 years.

He is survived by his son Will, daughter Joanna, daughter-in-law Cíara, brothers Brendan (Mary) and Tony (Miriam), sister Marianne (Pat), mother-in-law Johanna, aunt Claire (Portlaoise), sisters-in-law Anne, Bernie and Imelda, brothers-in-law Paul, Seamus, Sean and Vincent, extended family - cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many beloved close friends and colleagues.

Reposing in his home in Rialto, Dublin on Friday 1st August from 5pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fatima, Rialto on Saturday 2nd August for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Joseph's Cemetery Mountmellick, Co Laois.

Family flowers only.
