Sylvia Mary Mathews (née Kellett) - Portarlington
The death has occurred of Sylvia Mary Mathews (née Kellett) late of Station Road, Portarlington and of Wilton, Main Street, Portarlington. Sylvia passed away on January 13, 2026 in her 108th year, peacefully in the loving and wonderful care of the staff of St Martha's Ward at St Vincent's Community Nursing Unit Mountmellick. Beloved wife of the late Cecil G. Mathews and mother of Stuart and Susan, grandmother of Amanda, Nicola, Charles and Nicholas, great-grandmother to Willow, Isla, William, Imogen, Anders and Theodore.
Funeral arriving St Paul's Church, Portarlington on Thursday, January 22 for funeral service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Elizabeth passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Carnew Nursing Home County Wicklow. Predeceased by her husband Peter, her father Thomas and mother Eileen. The death has occurred of William (Billy) Kelly, Graiguecullen formerly of Winsford, Cheshire, United Kingdom on January 14 peacefully at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny with his close friends Duck and MJ at his side.
Loving father, uncle and grandfather. Pre-deceased by his parents Mary and Patrick, sister Stella and brothers Michael and Patrick. Billy will be fondly remembered by his family, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends, especially his friends in Racey Byrnes.
Reposing at McGuill's Funeral Home, Bennekerry, R93 E5N7 on Saturday, January 17 from 6.00p.m. until 8.00p.m. with prayers at 7.00p.m. Billy's funeral will take place in Winsford, Cheshire, United Kingdom at a later date.

Predeceased by her husband, John, sons, Sean, Enda & Baby William, her parents, brothers and sister. Marie passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her devoted family.

David Brown - Vicarstown
The death occurred of David Brown, Forest View, Tonafarna, Vicarstown on January 14, 2026.
David passed away peacefully at his residence in the company of his loving family in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Brenda and cherished father of Noel, Ciara, Stephen and Kate.
Regrettted by son-in-law Gary, daughter-in-law Lindsay, grandchildren Eoghain, Orlaith and Paddy, his extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.
Reposing in the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally (R32 WRH9) on Friday from 5 pm to conclude with the recital of the rosary at 7 pm. Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Saturday morning at 11:30 am to arrive at Church of the Assumption, Vicarstown (R32 N803) for 12 noon Requiem mass. Internment to follow in Moyanna Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Noel Maher, Monkstown Farm, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin and formerly of Ballinakill, Co. Laois on January 10 unexpectedly surrounded by his family.
Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Marie; much loved and devoted father of Daniel and Graham.
Predeceased by his parents Paddy and May, brothers Jerry, Joe, Martin, John, Jim and Oliver, sisters Nelly and Peggy.
