Michael Pidgeon - Portarlington/Tallaght 

The death has occurred of Michael Pidgeon, Pinevilla, Portarlington and formerly of Belgard Heights Tallaght, Dublin.

Michael passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Loving son of the late Michael. Deeply regretted his loving son Mikey, daughter Tara and their mother Lisa, dear mother Rita, brother Anthony, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and his close friends.

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Sunday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington.

Thomas (Tom) Hill - Mountrath 

The death occurred suddenly of Thomas (Tom) Hill, Patrick Street, Mountrath on Wednesday, February 18 at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Beloved husband of Marie, and dear father to Lorraine, Sharon and Thomas. Sadly, missed by his heartbroken family, grandchildren Cian, Leah, Abbie, Ellen, Jake and Robyn, sons-in-law Joe (Dooley) and John (Walsh), daughter-in-law Claire (Doran), brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath eircode R32Y661 on Friday evening, February 20 from 5.00’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Saturday morning, February 21 to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath eircode R32X338, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Interment in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Tom’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.mountrathparish.ie. Family Flowers only, donations if desired to P.A.T.H.


Christy Rafter - Colt, Ballyroan

The death has occurred of Christy Rafter Colt, Ballyroan. Christy passed away on Thursday, February 19 in his 91st year at The Residence Nursing Home, Portlaoise.

An ex-porter of the General Hospital Portlaoise, he will be sadly, missed by his sisters Mary (Brennan) and Nan (Dunne), sisters-in-law Annette and Betty (Rafter), nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Prayers on Friday evening, February 20 in St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen (eircode R32WT44) at 6.0’clock. Requiem Mass on Saturday afternoon, February 21 at 2.0’clock, followed by Interment in the adjoining Cemetery.

Mary McAssey - Graiguecullen

The death has occurred of  Mary McAssey (née Kelly) 118 St Clare’s Road, on February 18 in the gentle care of Hillview Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Beloved wife of the late Noel and much loved mother of Mary-Clare, Christene and Cornelia (Connie). Sadly missed by her loving daughters, sister Connie Redmond, sons-in-law Ray and Michael, grandson Conor, great-granddaughter Freya, brother-in-law Donie, sister-in-law Eavan, Conor’s partner Shauna, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Predeceased by her brothers, Ned and Berto.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow R93 H308 on Friday (Feb 20th) from 4 pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm.

Walking from her home on Saturday at 10.45 am to St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, to arrive for the funeral Mass at 11 am. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu to the Poor Clare Sisters, Graiguecullen.
