Deaths in Laois - November 14 2017

Brigid Conroy - Portlaoise

The death occurred of Brigid Conroy (née Bowe) Ballymacken, Portlaoise on Tuesday November 14.

Brigid passed away peacefully in the loving and tender care of her family. Brigid, beloved wife of the late Paddy and mother of the late Patrick.

Deeply regretted by her loving family. Daughters, Catherine, Sheila, Mary and sons Eugene and John, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 11 am on Wednesday morning with rosary recital at 9pm on Wednesday evening. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass.

Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.

Donal Purcell - Attanagh

The death took place of Donal Purcell, Ballinalacken, Attanagh on Monday, November 13.

Deeply regretted by his mother Sadie, fiancee Lisa, brothers JohnJoe and Phillip, sisters Bridie, Lena, Marie and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his home in Ballinalacken from midday Wednesday with rosary at 8pm Wednesday.

Removal Thursday morning to St. Patrick's Church, Ballyragget for 12 o'clock Requiem Mass, followed by burial in Ballyouskill Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Pieta House. House private Thursday morning.

Pauline Brown - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Pauline Brown (née Fennelly) of Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise, Laois on Monday, November 13.

Noelle died peacefully at Portaoise Regional Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Hughie, she is deeply regretted by her loving brothers Michael, and Teddy, and sister Myra, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposed at Keegan's Funeral Home from 6 pm on Tuesday evening with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to SS Peter & Paul’s Church to arrive for 10am Requiem Mass.

Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Noelle Dobson - Dubin / Abbeyleix

The death took place on  Saturday, November 11 of Noelle DOBSON (née Wellwood) of Lusk, Dublin / Abbeyleix, Laois

Noelle died peacefully at Beaumont Hospital surrounded by her family; sadly missed by her loving husband Win, daughter Lynne, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Laura, Conor and John, sisters Miriam and Rosemary, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rock's Funeral Home, Swords on Tuesday, November 14, evening from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 15, at 12 noon in St Michael and All Angels Church, Abbeyleix followed by burial in adjoining churchyard.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Beaumont Hospital Foundation.

Donna Neylon - Mountmellick/ Dublin

The death has took place on Monday, November 13 of Donna Neylon (née Finnie) 32 Twoomey Park, Mountmellick, Laois / Donaghmede, Dublin.

Donna died peacefully at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Beloved daughter of Daniel and the late Doreen and dear sister of the late Tracy and Mark Anthony. Deeply regretted by her husband David and her children Raymond, Karl, Sophie, Katelyn and Robyn, brothers, aunts, uncles, father and mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, neighbours relatives and friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Tuesday from 7pm. Recital of The Rosary at 9pm. Prayers on Wednesday at 9.15am, Removal at 9.45am to St. Joseph's Church for 10am Requiem Mass Funeral after to Balgriffin Cemetery arriving at 12.45pm.

Eddy Kelley - Mountmellick

The death took place on Saturday, November 11 of Eddy Kelley of Irishtown, Mountmellick, Laois.

Formerly of Crosby, Liverpool, England, Eddy died peacefully in the loving care of the staff in St Vincent's Hospital, Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Trish (nee Lawlor), his sister Christine (Sinclair) in Liverpool, brother Geoff, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Remains reposed in Moloney's Funeral Home, Mountmelick, on Sunday from 5pm with Recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Prayers in the Funeral Home on Monday 11.15am. Removal at 11.50am to St. Joseph's Church for Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's. No Mass cards please. Donations if desired to St Vincent's Hospital Mountmellick. Donation box will be in place in The Funeral Home and in St. Joseph's Church. Family flowers only, please.

John Redmond - Dublin / Stradbally

The death took place on Saturday November 11 of John Redmond,  102 Castletimon Road, Coolock, Dublin / Stradbally, Laois.

John passed away peacefully at Beaumont Hospital Dublin, surrounded by his family. John will be deeply regretted by his sons and daughters, Breda Farrell (New Jersey), Betty Redmond (Stradbally), Mary Lawlor (Stradbally), Dora Moore (Stradbally), John Redmond (Portlaoise), Liam Redmond (Portlaoise), Margaret Redmond (Navan), Elaine Redmond (Dublin). Predeceased by his wife Ellen Redmond, (nee Dillon) formerly Charter Road, Stradbally, Co. Laois, his brother Patrick Redmond, his mother Bridget Redmond, Aunt Molly Tracey and grandson Finn. Sadly missed by his brother Matt Redmond, cousins Doris Tracey and Mary Shields, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Remains reposed at his son-in-law Willie and his daughter Dora Moore's residence, Charter Road, from 12 noon on Sunday, 12th November, until removal at 9.30am on Monday morning to arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally, for 10 am Requeim Mass. Cremation to follow afterwards in Newlands Cross Crematorium at 2.30pm. Family flowers only. Recital of the Rosary on Sunday evening at 8pm.

John McStay - Portlaoise

The death took place on Friday, November 10 of John McStay of Mountain View, Portlaoise.

Predeceased by his daughter Anne Marie. Beloved husband of Christine and much loved father of Damien, Bearnard and Emma. Deeply regretted by his loving family; mother (Mary Anne), son-in-law. grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Saturday from 12 noon with rosary recital on Saturday evening at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday in SS Peter & Paul's Church at 12. 30pm. Interment afterwards in SS Peter & Paul's Cemetery.

Matt Phelan - Mountrath and Abbeyleix

The death took place on Friday, November 10 of Matt Phelan of Derrycanton, Mountrath, and late of Derrykearn, Abbeyleix.

Peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by his family, sadly missed by his loving wife Bridie, daughter Joan, sons John and Joe, daughter-in-law Claire, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on Saturday evening from 3pm, with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Sunday morning to St. Edmund's Church, Castletown, for Funeral Mass at 10.30am, followed by Burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.

Elizabeth Scully - Camross

The death took place on Thursday, November 9 of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Scully (née Lalor) of Garronbawn, Camross. 
Peacefully,at her home, surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by her husband Billy. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons Fintan, Eamonn and Nicholas, daughters Catherine (Lally) and Mary (Murray), brothers Fintan and Michael Lalor. daughter-in-law Nora, son-in-law Joe Murray, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on Friday, with rosary at 9pm. Removal on Saturday evening at 7pm, to St. Fergal's Church, Camross, arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday morning at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
