Deaths in Laois - December 17, 2017

Elizabeth Dunne - Cullohill

The death took place on Saturday, December 16 of Elizabeth (Betty) Dunne (née Doran) of Scrubb, Cullohill.

Peacefully, at her residence. Wife of the late Joe. Deeply regretted by her loving sons, Andy, Eddie, Joe, Paddy and Johnny, daughters Mary and Elizabeth, brother, daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her son Paddy's residence (Ross, Cullohill), from 3pm  on Sunday with Rosary at 7pm. Removal to St Tighearnach's Church, Cullohill on Monday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in Durrow Cemetery. 

Phyllis Greenhough Crettyard 

The death took place on Saturday, December 16 of Phyllis Greenhough(née Browne) of Derryhippo, Creggs, Roscommon and formerly of Old Road, Doonane, Crettyard.

Peacefully, in the tender and devoted care of the staff at Cloverhill Nursing Home. Loving wife to Colin, mother to Marie and Angie, grandmother to Kayleigh and the late Chaeron, and sister to Anthony, Sean, Frank and the late Bertha. She will be very sadly missed by her family, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Monday evening from 6.30pm until 8pm. Removal on Tuesday afternoon to St Abban’s Church, Doonane, Co Laois arriving at 4pm (via her former home at Old Road, Doonane). Mass of the Ressurection on Wednesday at 11am Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Patrick Dunne - Portarlington

The death took place on Wednesday, December 13 of Patrick (Pat) Dunne of Ard Mhuire, Rathangan and formerly Portarlington.

Beloved husband of Mary and father of Deirdre, Paul and Brian. Will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughter in law Joan and Roisin, his adored grandchildren, Ava and Orna, sisters in law, brothers in law, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Friday from 4pm to 9pm with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 9.30am to the Church of Assumption, Rathangan for Requiem Mass at 10am, burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Rathangan.

Molly McCormack - Rosenallis

The death took place on Thursday, December 14 of Molly McCormack of The Village, Rosenallis.

In the loving care of the staff at St.Vincents Hospital Mountmellick surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Paddy. Deeply regretted by her loving family Geraldine McCormack (Beechlawn Portlaois), Pat (Mountmellick), Jack and Tom. Son in law Teddy, daughters in law Chris, Sheila and Deirdre, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Stephen, Pat and Mike, nieces, nephews, sisters in law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at St.Vincents Hospital Chapel Mountmellick from 5pm on Friday untill removal at 6.45pm to St.Brigids Church Rosenallis arriving at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12noon. Burial after in St.Brigids Cemetery Rosenallis.

Jim Fahy - Portarlington

The death took place on Wednesday, December 13 of Jim Fahy of Arlington Estate, Portarlington and formerly Assumpta Park, Roscrea.

Peacefully at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Kathleen, family Jan,Marie and Sean, brothers Bob and Mick, sisters Lily,Margaret and Tina, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Thursday from 2pm with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Friday at 11.20am arriving St Michael's church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery Portarlington.

Matty Dunne - Portlaoise

The death took place on Wednesday, December 13 of Matty Dunne of Coolnamona, Portlaoise.

Peacefully in the tender care of the staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, Mountmellick. Matty, dearly loved brother to Ciss Sutherland (Clonaslee). Deeply regretted by his loving family, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal from St. Vincent's Hospital on Thursday evening at 7.15pm to arrive at St. Fintan's Church, Ballyfin at 8pm. Requiem Mass at 11am on Friday followed by interment in Ballyfin Cemetery.
