Deaths in Laois - December 21, 2017

Eileen Nolan - Portarlington and Mountmellick

The death took place on Wednesday, December 20 of Eileen Nolan (née McDonald) of Congress Tce, Portarlington and formerly Wolfe Tone Street Mountmellick.

Peacefully at her residence. Loving wife of the late Des. Deeply regretted by her loving family Caroline, Oonagh, Niall and Lorraine, sisters Alice and Ann, sons-in-law Joe, Michael and Gerry, daughter-in-law Fiona, grandchildren Siobhan, Kalie, Saoisse, Orlaith, Colm, Gerry and Molly B, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence. Rosary on Friday at 9pm. Removal on Saturday at 10.20am arriving St Michael's church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's cemetery Portarlington. 

Kitty Brennan - Killeshin

The death took place on Tuesday, December 19 of Kitty Brennan (née Bambrick) of Coolnariska, Killeshin and formerly of The Ridge, Old Leighlin.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness, bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her sister Lily Tunstead. Beloved wife of Liam and much loved mother of Liam, Michéal, Annette, Anthony, Marie, Colette, Paschal and Cathal. She will be sorely missed by her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her 23 grandchildren and her great grandson, her sisters, Nellie Shore, Old Leighlin and Mary Healy, Cruttenclough, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her home from 6pm on Wednesday with Rosary at 9pm, and on Thursday  from 12 noon with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Friday for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm in the Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. 

Alice Rowe - Stradbally

The death took place on Tuesday, December 19 of Alice Rowe (née Walsh) of Ballinteskin, Stradbally. 

Alice passed away peacefully in Cloverlodge Nursing Home, Athy, Co.Kildare in her 99th year. Deeply regretted by her daughter Betty, son-in-law David, grandsons, great grandsons, her nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her niece Catherine McEvoy's residence, Ballinteskin, Stradbally  from 2pm on Wednesday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm on Wednesday evening. Removal Thursday morning at 10.30am to arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally for 11am Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery.

Phyllis Ridgeway - Portarlington

The death took place on Tuesday, December 19 of Phyllis Ridgeway (née Broomfield) of Portarlington. 

Peacefully in the loving care of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Beloved wife of the late Stanley. Loving mother of Neville, Olwyn and Frank, mother-in-law of Heather and Tom, dear grandmother of Emma,Laura, Gavin,Ben,John, Andrew, David and Ellisha. Sadly missed by her loving brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her son Neville's residence in Cloneygowan on Wednesday from 3pm to 9pm. Removal on Thursday arriving St Paul's Church Portarlington for service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. House Private On Thursday Morning Please.

John Lynch - Portarlington

The death took place on Monday, December 18 of John Lynch of Kilbride, Portarlington. 

Suddenly. Loving Dad of the late Kevin. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Susan, daughter Linda, brothers William and Philip, sisters Mary, Dolores, Catherine and Eileen, grandchildren Ashley, Adam, Aaron,Thomas and Katie, son-in-law Gary, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Tuesday from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday at 11.10am arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington.

Paddy Kelly - Stradbally

The death took place on Monday, December 18 of Paddy (Lawerence) Kelly of Kilteel, Stradbally.

Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving family, sons, Joe, Jimmy, Henry (Patrick), sister Anne, brothers Ted, and Tony, grandchildren. Joseph, Gavin, Leanne and his great grandchild Hayleigh. Extended family, relatives, neighbours , and his many friends.

Reposing at The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 4pm on Tuesday with recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10am in Church of The Sacred Heart, Stradbally, interment to follow in The Heath Cemetery.
