Deaths in Laois - February 7, 2018

Maureen Fenlon - Ballybrittas

The death took place on Tuesday, February 6 of Maureen Fenlon (née Moran) of Ballybrittas. 

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Sadly missed by her daughters Caroline and Sarah. Predeceased by her husband Mick and son Pat. Deeply regretted by her family, brother Willie and sister Susie, brother-in-law Tom, sister-in-law Vera, daughter-in-law Carmel, son-in-law John, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Wednesday from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Reposing Thursday from 12 noon with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 11.30am to arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Rath for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in New Cemetery, Emo. 

Paddy Kelly - Portlaoise 

The death took place on Tuesday, February 6 of Paddy Kelly of Portarlington Rd, Tullamore, Offaly and formerly of 133 St Brigid's Place, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his loving partner Eileen, sons Gordan, Garry and Patrick, daughters Kathleen and Louise, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements to be announced later. 

Donal Keenan - Mountmellick 

The death took place on Monday, February 5 of Donal Keenan of Manor Road, Mountmellick.

After a very short illness at St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin. Member of Army Post 27 Retired Irish Army Catering Corp, Curragh Camp. Pre-deceased by his dear parents Flor and Liz and brother Ned. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Cheryl, his son Daniel, and daughters Samantha and Elizabeth, grandchildren Darren and Tadhg, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, neighbours, relatives, former Army colleagues and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements to be announced later. 

Sheila Matthews - Mountmellick 

The death took place on Monday, February 5 of Sheila (Tony) Matthews (née Phelan) of Sallynoggin, Dublin and formerly of 5, Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick.

Peacefully at home. Dearly beloved wife of the late William (Billy) and much loved mother of Noel, Jim, John and Patricia (Pat). Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, son-in-law Steve, daughters-in-law Josephine, Mary (Trini) and Irene, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Mary, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to Our Lady of Victories Church, Sallynoggin arriving at 9.50am. Funeral immediately after 10am requiem Mass to Deans Grange Cemetery. 

Camillus Kenna - Dublin and Portarlington 

The death took place on Monday, February 5 of Camillus Kenna of Dublin and formerly of Bracklone St, Portarlington. Loving son of the late Billy and Teresa. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers Gerard and Declan, sister-in-law, nephew, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Wednesday from 9am with Removal at 9.30am arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to the St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington.
 

John and Mary Brophy - Mountmellick

The death took place on Saturday, February 3 of John and Mary Brophy of 11 Davin Park, Mountmellick. 

Also known as Jack Maher and Molly. Died peacefully surrounded by their loving families in The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by their sons John and Noel, daughters Martina, Patricia and Majella, daughters-in-law Tracey and Ann, son-in-law Seamus, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Jack and Molly will repose in their home from 5pm on Tuesday with Recital of The Rosary at 9pm. Family time on Wednesday morning please. Funerals arriving to St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick on Wednesday for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burials after in St. Joseph's Cemetery. 

John Campbell - Mountmellick 

The death on Sunday, February 4 of John Campbell of Woodford, Loughrea, Galway and Derryguile, Mountmellick.

Suddenly at the Galway Clinic. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne (née McMahon) brothers Raymond and Robert, sisters Catriona, Clare and Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, nephews-in-law, nieces-in-law, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon in St. John the Baptist Church, Woodford, Co. Galway with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

John Dooley - Portarlington and Rosenallis 

The death took place on Sunday, February 4 of John Dooley of Ballycullane, Portarlington and Rosenallis.

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital, Portloaise. Deeply regretted by his wife, May, sons Sean, Fergal and Brian, daughter Margaret, sisters Bridie and Phil, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 10am on Tuesday morning. Removal on Tuesday evening at 7pm to St. Paul's Church, Emo, arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by burial in the new cemetery.
