Deaths in Laois - May 13, 2018

Paul Davis - Ballylinan

The death took place on Saturday, May 12 of Paul Davis of Main St., Ballylinan.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Teresa, sons Bill, Eugene and Declan , daughters Siobhán, Sharon and Rosie, his two sisters Mary and Ann, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Sunday afternoon with rosary at 8pm. Removal by Rigneys Funeral Directors on Monday afternoon to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Ballylinan for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in Ballylinan Cemetery. 

Louis McMahon - Stradbally and Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, May 10 of Louis McMahon of Woodview, Stradbally, and Market Sq., Portlaoise.

Peacefully at St Vincents Hosp. Dublin. Predeceased by his father Gerry and mother Rita and baby sister Angela. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Catherine Galvin and Brid Cotter, brothers-in-law Mick and Donal, nieces Josephine, Mairead and Katie, nephews Eoin, Neil and Fionn, grandnephews, grandnieces ,cousins and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home from 7.30pm on Saturday evening with rosary at 9pm. Removal on Sunday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12.30pm Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Mary Hovenden - Durrow and Mountrath

The death took place on Thursday, May 10 of Mary Hovenden (née Greene) of Swan Rd, Durrow and formerly of Ringstown, Mountrath. Peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Portlaoise Regional Hospital. Beloved wife of Bobby. Deeply regretted by her children Anne, Robert, June, Lesley, Ken and Don, sister Evelyn, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 2pm to 8pm on Saturday. Removal on Sunday afternoon to St. Fintan's Church, Durrow for Funeral Service at 3pm, followed by burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Thomas Fitzpatrick - Killasmeestia

The death took place on Thursday, May 10 of Thomas (Tommy) Fitzpatrick of Killasmeestia, Ballybrophy.

Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Thomas (Tommy), predeceased by his brother Jeremiah. Deeply regretted by his brother Bernard and his sisters Mary and Winnie, nieces, nephews, his kind neighbours, relatives and friends and all at Ballard Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise.

Reposing at O' Sullivan's Funeral Home, Rathdowney on Sunday evening from 7pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday in Killasmeestia Church at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Julia Bergin - Ballacolla

The death took place on Thursday, May 10 of Julia Bergin (née Fizpatrick) of Fearagh, Ballacolla.

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Julia, beloved wife of the late Séan and dearly loved mother to Larry and Michael. Cherished grandmother to Aaron, Chloe and Tadgh, great-grandchild Fionn. Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughters-in-law Mary and Kim, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 2pm on Friday with rosary at 9pm. Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at the Church, Ballacolla for 11am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
