Deaths in Laois - May 19, 2018

George O'Brien - Durrow

The death took place on Friday, May 18 of George O'Brien of Woodlands, Cork Road, Durrow.

Peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget. Husband of the late Mary. Deeply regretted by his loving children Deirdre, Gemma, Louise and Raymond, sister Kack, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Brookhaven Nursing home from 4pm on Saturday evening with Rosary at 8pm. Removal to Holy Trinity Church, Durrow on Sunday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Emily Dowling - Stradbally

The death took place on Friday, May 18 of Emily Dowling (née Phelan) of Vicarstown, Stradbally.

Funeral Arrangements to be announced later.

Lila Phelan - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Thursday, May 17 of Lila Phelan (née Higgins) of The Fairways, Abbeyleix, and late of Coolrain, Portlaoise and Bray.

Peacefully at her home. Predeceased by her brothers Padraic and Sean, sister Annette (Moran). Deeply regretted by her husband Kieran, son Mark, daughters Aideen and Ciara daughter-in-law Ann-Marie, sisters Marie, Rita and Bernadette, grandchildren, son-in-law Joe, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass on Sunday morning in St. Edmund's Church, Castletown at 10.30am, with burial immediately afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Abbeyleix.

Mary Hogan - Clonaslee

The death took place on Thursday, May 17 of Mary Hogan (née Scully) of Broughla, Clonaslee.

Peacefully at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her infant son.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Peter and heart-broken family, Colm, Leo (Carlow), Maree McCabe (Tullamore), Raymond, Fiona Kelly, Derek, Aidan, Yvonne Norris (Cappincur) and Fergal. Fondly remembered by her 20 grandchildren. Deeply regretted by her brother Brendan, sons-in-law Michael, Christy, and Patrick, Daughters-in-law Joan, Denise, Martina, Ann Marie, and Josie, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Friday from 4pm with rosary at 9pm. Reposing on Saturday from 4pm with rosary at 9pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 12 noon in St. Manman's Church, Clonaslee, followed by burial afterwards in St. Manman's Cemetery, Clonaslee.

Michael Dunphy - Durrow

The death took place on Wednesday, May 16 of Michael (Mick) Dunphy of Dunmore, Durrow.

Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore. Husband of the late Patsy. Deeply regretted by his loving children, Michael, Mary, Lar and Anne, brother, daughter in law, son in law, brother in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughter Mary's house, Dunmore from 6pm on Thursday evening. Rosary on Friday evening at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning to Holy Trinity Church Durrow for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patricia Hogan - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Monday, May 14 of Patricia (Patty) Hogan (née Carthy) of Ballinakill Road, Abbeyleix.

Peacefully at Priory Grange Nursing Home Colwyn Bay Wales. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Ned, daughter Carol, son-in-law Harry, grandchildren Niall, Nabeel, Alina, Adam, brother Jarlath, relatives and friends.

Reposing in the Adoration Chapel, adjoining The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix, on Sunday May 20th from 7pm with rosary at 8.30pm. Requiem Mass on Monday in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
