Deaths in Laois - May 21, 2018

Kathleen Walsh - Borris-in-Ossory

The death took place on Sunday, May 20 of Kathleen Walsh (née Ryan) of Church View, Borris-in-Ossory. 

Peacefully in the care of the Staff at the Villa Marie, Nursing Home, Roscrea. Deeply regretted by her loving husband James (Jim), son Jim, nieces, nephews, extended family, relaives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Guilfoyle's Funeral Home, Castletown, Mountrath on Monday evening from 6pm with Rosary in the funeral home at 9pm. Removal on Tuesday evening at 7pm to St. Canice's Church, Borris in Ossory arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in Derrinsallagh cemetery, Borris-in-Ossory.

Mary McMahon - Portarlington 

The death took place on Sunday, May 20 of Mary (Mollie) McMahon (née Whyte) of St Michael`s Park, Portarlington. 

Peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Loving wife of the late Jim. Deeply regretted by her loving family Tony (John), Colette, Patricia, Eithne, Ursula and Paul, brother Joe, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington Sunday from 8pm with Rosary at 9pm. Reposing on Monday from 5pm with Removal at 6.40pm arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery.

John O'Brien - Rosenallis

The death took place on Saturday, May 19 of John O'Brien of Rearymore, Rosenallis.

Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Dearly loved husband of Liz. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, John, Michael, Carmel, Patrick and Eimear. Loving grandad to Chiara, Emma, Ruth, Nicole, Senan and Arron.
Deeply regretted by his daughters-in-law Joy and Margaret, sons-in -law Patrick and Niall, brothers Seamie, Tony, Mike and Joe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains will be reposing at the residence of his son Michael and Joy at Rearymore, Rosenallis, from 2pm on Monday with Rosary at 9pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11am in St Manman's Church, Clonaslee, followed by burial afterwards in St Manman's Cemetery Clonaslee.

Kathleen McDonald - Portlaoise

The death took place on Friday, May 18 of Kathleen McDonald (née Temple) of 40 Colliers View, Colliers Lane, Portlaoise, and late of Loughteague, Stradbally and Cloughan, Co.Offaly.

Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise in the presence of her loving family. Sadly missed by her husband John Joe and her much loved daughter Patricia, sister Phyllis, nephews, brothers in law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home 40 Colliers View from 5pm on Sunday evening. Removal from her home on Monday evening at approx. 7.15pm to arrive at The Holy Cross Church Rathneskia for 8pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Interment to follow in the adjoining Cemetery.

Emily Dowling - Stradbally

The death took place on Friday, May 18 of Emily Dowling (née Phelan) of Vicarstown, Stradbally and formerly the  Pike of Rushall, Castletown.

Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Beloved wife of the late William and dear mother of Bernadette, Veronica, Declan and James. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family. nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home in Vicarstown from 6pm this Monday evening with Recital of The Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Tuesday to The Church of The Assumption, Vicarstown arriving for 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday in The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11am. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.
