Deaths in Laois - August 9, 2018

Maureen Dunne - Clonaslee

The death took place on Wednesday, August 8 of Maureen Dunne of Castlecuffe, Clonaslee.

Ex National Teacher Stratford on Slaney, Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow, and Rath, Ballybrittas. Died peacefully in her 99th year at Kilminchey Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her brother Michael, and sister Sr. Oliver (Presentation Sisters, Kildare). She will be very sadly missed by her sister Sr. Alphonsus (Presentation Sisters, Kilcock), cousins, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her cousin Pat Dunne, Ballymacrory, Clonaslee from 6pm on Thursday evening with Rosary at 9pm. Reposing on Friday from 12 noon with removal Friday evening at 7pm arriving to St. Manman's Church, Clonaslee for 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in St. Manman's Cemetery, Clonaslee.

Patrick Doyle - Stradbally 

The death took place on Wednesday, August 8 of Patrick (Pat) Doyle of Old Caragh Court, Kildare and formerly of Grange Abbey Road, Baldoyle, Dublin 13 and Stradbally.

Sadly missed by his wife Marie, son Patrick, daughters Siobhan, Claire, Laura and Emily, brother Hugh, sisters Kathleen and Marcella, daughter-in-law Alison, son-in-law Lewis, grandchildren Caoimhe, Adam, Justin, Amber, Luke, Alex and Isaac, extended family and friends.

Reposing at The George Mullins Funeral Home, Kilcullen Road, Naas, on Friday from 4pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 9.20am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas, for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by Burial in St. Corban's Cemetery, Dublin Road, Naas.

Linda Therese Smith - Mountmellick

The death took place on Tuesday, August 7 of Linda Therese Smith of 62 St Joseph's Tce, Mountmellick. 

Died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Staff memebr of St Vincent's Hospital, Mountmellick.

Sadly missed by her loving parents, Pete and Helen, her sisters Karen, Wendy and Debbie, her brothers Brian, Colm and Owen, nieces Jennifer, Ava, Kellie, Rebecca and Oonagh, nephews Conor, David, Brian, Cillian, Robert, Tadgh, Harry and Adam, sisters-in-law Louise Kelly and Mary McEvoy, relatives, family and a large circle of family and friends.

Reposing this Wednesday in Moloney's Funeral Home from 6pm with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.30am to St Joseph's Church Moutmellick, arriving for 11am requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Joseph's cemetery. 

Catherine Mooney - Attanagh

The death took place on Tuesday, August 7 of Catherine Mooney of Closhawn, Attanagh.

Peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents Statia and Martin, her brother Henry, her sister in law Carmel and her nephew Alan. Deeply regretted by her brothers Tom, Pat, Martin and Denis, sister Statia, sister in law Ber, brother in law Peter, her devoted nieces and nephews, Helen, Mary, Martin, Sharon, Paul, Colm, Carmel, Kevin, Ciara, Lynda, Shane and Adrian, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours, former work colleagues and friends.

Reposing at her home from 2pm on Thursday afternoon. Funeral prayers on Thursday evening at 7.30pm, followed by removal to the Church of the Assumption Ballyouskill. Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. 

Mary Ann Kelly - Donaghmore and Rathdowney

The death took place on Tuesday, August 7 of Mary Ann Kelly of Castletown, Donaghmore and Cuan Bhríde Rathdowney.

Deeply regretted by her brother Billy, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at O'Sullivan's Funeral Home, Rathdowney this Wednesday evening from 6pm with funeral prayers at 7pm followed by removal at 7.30pm to the Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 10am followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.
 
Margaret Horan - Ballinakill 

The death took place on Monday, August 6 of Margaret Horan (née Brennan) of Tullamaine, Fethard, Co. Tipperary, formerly of Ballysloe and recently of Ballinakill.

Beloved wife of the late Joachim. Deeply regretted by her brother Willie Brennan, daughter Mary Mansfield, sons Jimmy, Tom, Jo and his partner Liz, daughters-in-law Mary and Kate, son-in-law Mark, brother-in-law Dinny Horan, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at McCarthy's Funeral Home, Fethard on Wednesday from 5pm with removal to the Holy Trinity Parish Church at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
