Deaths in Laois - August 22, 2018

Thomas O'Neill - Ballylinan and Wolfhill

The death took place on Monday, August 20 of Thomas O'Neill of Aughanure, Ballylinan and formerly of Crossard, Wolfhill.

Brother of the late Andrew. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Petra, sons Dominik and Daniel, parents Patrick and Elizabeth, brother Patrick, sisters Elizabeth, Richelle and Sandra, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney's Funeral Home, Athy from 5pm on Wednesday afternoon with Rosary at 6.30pm. Removal at 7pm Wednesday evening to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Wolfhill for 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday morning at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael Moore - Portarlington

The death took place on Monday, August 20 of Michael Moore of 24 St Michael`s Park, Portarlington. 

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, son Michael, daughters Helena, Diane and Susan, grandchildren Evie, Lee, Warren, Stephen, Anthony, Victoria, Cian and Ryhan, brother Kevin, sisters Joan, Bernadette, Marie and Pauline, sons-in-law Anthony and Dave daughter-in-law Laura, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Tuesday from 6.30pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his residence on Wednesday at 9.15am arriving St Michael's Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery Portarlington.

Michael Phelan - Mountmellick 

The death took place on Monday, August 20 of Michael Phelan of Strahard, Mountmellick. 

Died peacefully at the Regional Hospital, Tullamore surrounded by his wife and family. Predeceased by his brother Fr. Con P.P., Killeigh. Deeply regretted by his wife Mary and children Anne, Tina, Teresa, Martha, Kathleen and John, grandchildren Liam and Mary, sisters Martha and Teresa, brother Tom, son-in-law Eddie, sister-in-law Pat, brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in his home on Wednesday for 3pm until Removal at 6pm to St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick arriving for 7pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am. Burial after in St Joseph's Cemetery, Mountmellick. 

Thomas Byrne - Durrow 

The death took place on Saturday, July 7 of Thomas (Tom) Byrne of Patrick St, Durrow, Athlone, Westmeath and Brighton, England.

Ex Ericsson Telecommunications. Died unexpectedly in Brighton. Sadly missed by his sons Thomas and Clive, his daughter Adrienne and Hetta and her family, his brother Tony (Canada) and sister Angela (Drennan) (Durrow), relatives, extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass this Saturday morning, August 25 in Holy Trinity Church, Durrow at 11am followed by burial of ashes immediately afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Sean Brophy - Knockanina and Mountrath

The death took place on Sunday, August 19 of Sean Brophy of Knockanina and late of Woodbrook, Mountrath. 

Hurley Maker. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the loving care of doctors, matron, nurses, and staff of Naas General Hospital (Stroke Unit). Deeply regretted by Kathleen, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at Burke's Funeral Home, Mountrath on Tuesday evening from 6pm, with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St. Fintan's Church, Mountrath, for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by Burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery Mountrath.

Thomas Brennan - Crettyard

The death took place on Sunday, August 19 of Thomas (Tom) Brennan of 'St. Joseph’s', Doonane, Crettyard.

Peacefully, at Portlaoise General Hospital. Beloved husband of Peggy, much loved father of Mary, Catherine and John and adored grandfather of Margaret, Kathleen, Keith, Veronica, Laura, Eugenie, Rachel and Sophie. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, son, grandchildren, his 6 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Eugene, brothers Mick, Paul, Sean and Paddy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home from 2pm on Monday with Prayers at 8pm. Reposing from 2pm on Tuesday with removal at 7pm to St. Abban’s Church, Doonane, arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Paddy Feery - Mountmellick 

The death took place on Sunday, August 19 of Paddy Feery of 59 Pattision Estate, Mountmellick. 

Suddenly at home. Beloved husband of the recently deceased Alice, and dear father of the late Paddy. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Linda, David, Fiona and Gavin. Brothers, Sean (Geashil) and Maurice (Delvin, Westmeath), sisters, Rose (Chicago), Mary (Kelleigh), Carmel (Portarlington) and Betty (Cork), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in Moloney's funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7pm. Recital of the rosary 9pm. Removal from his home on Wednesday afternoon arriving St. Joesph's Church Mountmellick for 3pm Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Joesph's Cemetery. 

Pearse Keegan - Mountrath 

The death took place on Friday, August 17 of Pearse Keegan of Dublin and late of Main Street, Mountrath. 

Unexpectedly. Sadly missed by his family and friends. Predeceased by his mother Frances, father Michael and sister Regina.

Cremation will take place after Private Service in Newlands Cross Crematorium.
