Deaths in Laois - September 6, 2018

Philip Meagher - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, September 6 of Philip Meagher of “Larchgrove”, Mountrath Rd., Portlaoise.

In his 93rd year. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Philip Thomas. Devoted husband to the late Noreen and father of the late June. Cherished father to Mary, Joyce, Patricia, Billy, Gerry and Philip. Adored pops to his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deeply regretted by his nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home, Portlaoise from 4.30pm on Friday with removal to SS Peter and Paul’s Church to arrive at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass at 1pm on Saturday followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. 

Eileen Lynch - Portlaoise 

The death took place on Thursday, September 6 of Eileen Lynch of Borris Rd., Portlaoise. 

Peacefully at Portaoise Regional Hospital. Deeply regretted by her loving sisters Mary Patricia and Claire, brother-in-law Tom, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home, Portlaoise from 7.30pm on Friday with rosary at 8.30pm. Removal on Saturday morning to SS Peter and Paul's Church for 10am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwarsds in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Elizabeth Russell - Portlaoise 

The death took place on Thursday, September 6 of Elizabeth (Lily) Russell of Clonad, Portlaoise. 

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Kilminchy Lodge, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her brothers Noel and Martin. Deeply regretted by her siblings Maureen, Fintan, Benny, Patrick (Buddy) and Teresa (Tess), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Burkes Funeral Home, Mountrath this Thursday evening from 7.30pm. Recital of the Rosary at 9pm.

Ollie Dowling - Portlaoise

The death took place on Saturday, September 1 of Ollie Dowling of Clonad, Portlaoise. 

Suddenly at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Pre-deceased by his wife Mary. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Margaret, Tara, Annette, Katherine and Mary, sons Oliver and Marty, daughter-in-law Denise, grandchildren Sophie, Adam and Kiera, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence on Wednesday from 1pm to 9pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 11.30am from his residence to St. Fintan's Church, Raheen for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetary. House private on Thursday morning please.

Sean Morris - Mayo and Laois 

The death took place on Tuesday, August 14 of Sean Morris of London and formerly Ballycastle County Mayo. Loving husband of the late Eileen Carroll, formerly the Old Pound, Ballybrittas. Deeply regretted by his loving sons John and Frank, sisters Kathleen, May, Sheila and Nuala, daughters-in-law Gabrielle and Diane, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass in St John's Church Killenard Portarlington on Friday, September 7 at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
