Deaths in Laois - November 22, 2018

George Patrick Dobson - Portlaoise

The death took place on Wednesday, November 21 of George Patrick Dobson of "Tranquil" Mountrath Road, Portlaoise. Passed away unexpectedly at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.

Deeply regretted by his family Winston, Emily and Audrey, relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends.

 Removal from the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise at approximately this Thursday to arrive at Holy Trinity Church, The Rock for 7pm Reception Prayers. Funeral Service on Friday at 2.30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Sean Gilligan - Ballyfin 

The death took place on Wednesday, November 21 of Seán Gilligan of Brockera, Ballyfin. 

After an illness bravely borne. Deeply regretted by his loving family, wife Renade, sons Keith and John, daughter Tara, grandson Joshua, brothers, sisters, neices, nephews and extended family, neighbours and friends in Carlow and Inishannon, Co. Cork.

Reposing at his brother Pauric's residence in Brockera on Thursday from 12 noon. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am in St. Fintan's Church, Ballyfin. Burial after in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Ballyfin. 

Michael Mulloy - Wolfhill 

The death took place on Wednesday, November 21 of Michael Mulloy of Ballylehane Upper, Wolfhill. 

Retired Garda. Beloved husband of the late Bridie and brother of the late Brendan (England). Deeply regretted by his loving son Seán, sister Mary, sister-in-law Phil, brother-in-law Pat, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 4pm on Thursday with Rosary at 8pm. Removal by Rigneys Funeral Director's at 11.30am on Friday morning to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Wolfhill for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Eddie Keogh - Mountmellick

The death took place on Wednesday, November 21 of Eddie Keogh of The Borness, Mountmellick and formerly of Lismady, Multifarnham, Co. Westmeath.

Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Ann, predecesased by his daughter-in-law Dee.

Deeply regretted by his loving family Yvonne, Valerie, Derek and Aidan, his ten grandchildren and great-grandchild Alana, sons-in-law Liam and Joe, daughter-in-law Carmel, brother Kevin (Multifarnham) sister Vera (UK), sisters-in-law Ann, Kitty and Rosalind (USA) brother-in-law Jimmy (UK), nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements to be announced later. 

Kathleen Finlay - Portarlington 

The death took place on Tuesday, November 20 of Kathleen Finlay (née Cruise) of Patrick Street, Portarlington and formerly Collinstown County Westmeath. Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington.

Loving wife of the late Paddy. Deeply regretted by her loving son Eddie, daughter-in-law Michelle, grandchildren Katie, Sean, Ciaran and Aisling, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Oakdale Nursing Home on Thursday from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington.

Alan Grant - Rathdowney

The death took place on Monday, November 19 of Alan Grant of Cuan Bhride, Rathdowney. 

Peacefully, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary (nee Bergin), brother Alec, sister Ann, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Guilfoyle's Funeral Home, Castletown, Mountrath this Wednesday evening from 6pm with Rosary in the funeral home at 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.15am to Killasmeestia Church for Funeral Mass at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Edward McGoldrick - Portarlington 

The death took place on Monday, November 19 of Edward (Eddie) McGoldrick of 17 Killenard Lodge, Portarlington and Templeogue, Dublin,  Riverstown, Sligo

Peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Ann; sadly missed by his daughter Lorraine, sons Keith and Garvin, son-in-law David, daughters-in-law Nicole and Elodie, cherish grandfather of Katie, Dylan, Nisha, Charlie, Layla, Penny and Thalia, sisters-in-law Josephine and Bridie and his neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Maureen.

Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Tuesday with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Wednesday from 2pm with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Thursday in Saint John’s Church, Killenard followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.
