Deaths in Laois - November 30, 2018

William Deegan - Stradbally

The death took place on Thursday, November 29 of William (Bill) Deegan of Church Lane, Stradbally. 

Peacefully at his home. Predeceased and reunited with his wife Sheila and brother Pauge. Sadly missed and loving remembered by his family, sons Pat and William, daughters Linda and Fiona, daughters–in-law Anne and Carol, sons-in-law Tim and Martin, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Hubert, James and Maurice, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at his home from 12 noon this Friday with recital of The Rosary at 8pm Friday Night. Removal on Saturday at 11.45am to arrive at The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally for 12 noon Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Colman's (Oakvale) Cemetery, Stradbally. 

Kevin Young - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, November 29 of Kevin Young of St Brigid's Place, Portlaoise.

Funeral Arrangements to be annnounced later. 

Nuala Fitzgibbon - Portlaoise 

The death took place on Thursday, November 29 of Nuala Fitzgibbon (née Lalor) of Laurel Court, Portlaoise and formerly Lalors Harbour Bar, Mountmellick. Died peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the loving care of the staff at The Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Beloved wife of the late Paddy. Predeceased by her infant son Eamon. Dearly loved Mother of Seamus, Bredeen, Patrick, Janet and Paula, sons-in-law Michael and Kevin, daughters-in-law Phil and Breda, brother Eamon, sisters Maisie, Genevieve and Rita, brothers and sisters in-law her beloved very much loved 10 grandchildren and great-grandchild, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Friday evening from 7pm. Recital of the rosary at 8pm. Removal from Moloney's on Saturday morning at 9.20am to SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaois, arriving for 10am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaois. Donations, if desired, to Friends of Portlaoise Hospital. 

Kathleen Hickey - Portarlington 

The death took place on Thursday, November 29 of Kathleen Hickey (née Gallagher) of Lea Road, Portarlington. 

Peacefully at her residence. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Don, son Donal, daughter-in-law Naomi, granddaughters Isabella, Emilia and Ivy, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Friday from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday at 10.20am arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St John's Cemetery, Killenard.

Margaret Flynn - Rosenallis 

The death took place on Wednesday, November 28 of Margaret Flynn (née Dempsey) of Derry, Rosenallis. 

Peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Peter. Dearly loved mother to Mary, Patricia, Margaret and Martina. She will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren, great granchildren, her sons-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 4pm on Thursday with Rosary at 9pm. Reposing at her residence on Friday from 12 noon until 4 pm. House private from 4pm until removal at 7.30pm to St. Brigid's Church, Rosenallis arriving at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Rosenallis.
Martin Conroy - Mountmellick

The death took place on Tuesday, November 27 of Martin Conroy of Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick and formerly Manor Road, Mountmellick.

Beloved son of the late Eddie and Josie. Predeceased by his sisters Frances and Sheila. Deeply regretted by his sisters Ann Ryan (Cork) and Teresa Tounge (UK) neices, nephews, brothers-in-law Danny, Andy, and Eamon, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Moloney's Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Friday from 5pm with recital of The Rosary at 6pm. Removal at 6.45pm to St. Joseph's Church, arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am with burial after in St. Joseph's Cemetery. 

John Bowell - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Tuesday, November 27 of John Bowell of Oldtown, Abbeyleix. 

Peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his father Victor. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Helen, sons Ray and Brian, mother Gemma, brother Cormac, sisters Catherine and Rebecca, grandchildren Aidan and Emily, his step-children Oisin and Cailin and their children Cian, Kealan, Dallan and Lile, uncle, aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence from 6pm on Wednesday, and from 12 noon on Thursday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm Thursday. Removal to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix for 12 noon Requiem Mass on Friday. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
