Deaths in Laois - December 24, 2018

John Brennan - Ballybrophy

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of John Brennan of Ballyquaid, Ballybrophy.

Tragically following a car accident. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Sean and Martina, his brothers and sisters, Caroline, Marie, Daniel, Katie, Cillian and Eoin, uncles, aunts, brothers in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home in Ballyquaid this Monday evening (Christmas Eve) from 7pm with rosary in the house at 9pm, and on Tuesday (Christmas Day) with rosary in the house at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday (St. Stephen's Day) in Killasmeestia Church at 1.30 pm, with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patricia Power - Ballickmoyler

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of Patricia (Patty) Power (née Molamphy) of Coolnaugh, Ballickmoyler.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at The District Hospital, Carlow. Beloved wife of the late Jim, much loved mother of Kathleen, Margaret, Anne, Patricia, Michael and James (Jim) and cherished sister of Kathleen, Jimmy and the late Annie. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister, brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen from 2pm on Wednesday (St. Stephen’s Day) with removal at 6.30pm to St Abban’s Church, Killeen (via her residence) arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael Cullinane - Mountrath

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of Michael Cullinane of Blackrock, Dublin and formerly of Mountrath.

Former NT at Ashford, Co. Wicklow and Drimnagh Castle. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in Newtownpark House, Blackrock, Co. Dublin Predeceased by his wife Phyllis, daughter Hilda and brother John. Much loved father of Fiona. Sadly missed by his sisters Mary and Rita, his brother Denis, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his family home on Wednesday from 4pm-8pm, with removal to St. John the Baptist Church, Blackrock for Funeral Mass at 10am on Thursday, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

John Mahon - Rosenallis

The death took place on Saturday, December 22 of John Mahon of Drummond, Rosenallis.

In the care of the staff at Esker Rí Nursing Home, Clara. Deeply regretted by his family neighbours relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Moloney's Funeral Home on Sunday from 5pm. Removal at 6.30pm to St. Brigid's Church, Rosenallis arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Christmas Eve at 11am. Burial after in St. Brigid's Cemetery.

Sean O'Connor - Durrow

The death took place on Saturday, December 22 of Sean O'Connor of Brindley Park Sq., Ashbourne and formerly of Durrow and The Irish Prison Services.

Peacefully at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Loving husband of Teresa and dear father of Caroline, Eileen, Yvonne, Deirdre, Kathleen and Sean. Sadly missed by his family, his adored 11 grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister Margaret, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and his many dear friends.

Reposing at his daughter Eileen's home at 2 Ashewood Green, Ashbourne from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday evening. Removal on Monday morning to the Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Ashbourne, arriving for Funeral Mass at 9am. Burial afterwards in St Declan's Cemetery, Ashbourne.
