Deaths in Laois - December 27, 2018

Bridie Fitzpatrick - Mountmellick

The death took place on Wednesday, December 26 of Bridie Fitzpatrick of Connolly Street, Mountmellick. 

Peacefully, in the care of the staff at St Vincent's Hospital, Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by her loving family, neighbours, relatives and many friends. Deeply regretted by her sister Mary (UK), neices, nephews, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Moloney's Funeral Home on Friday from 5pm. Removal at 6.50pm to St. Joseph's Church, arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 10am. Burial after in St Joseph's Cemetery.

Kevin Fox - Errill

The death took place on Tuesday, December 25 of Kevin Fox of Lissanure, Templetuohy and formerly of Castlefleming, Errill.

Reposing in Grey’s Funeral Home, Templemore this Friday evening from 4pm. Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templetuohy at 8pm to arrive at 8.45pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10.30am. Interment in Templeree Cemetery afterwards.

Patrick Moylan-Touhy - Portlaoise

The death took place on Monday, December 24 of Patrick (Pa) Moylan-Touhy of Marian Ave., Portlaoise. 

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Patrick (Pa), beloved husband of the late Rose and son of the late Hannah. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers Frank, Jim, Michael, John and Noel, sisters Margaret, Cathy, June, Angela and Ann, aunt Kate, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his brother Noel's house at Summerhill Lane, Portlaoise from 2pm on Thursday with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 10am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Patrick Flanagan - Killenard and Rosenallis

The death took place on Sunday 23 of Patrick Flanagan of Killenard, Portarlington and formerly of Johnsgrove Rosenallis.

Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore after a short illness, in the loving care of his family. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary, parents Thomas and Margaret Flanagan and brother Damien.

Sadly missed by his loving daughter Sinéad, sons Fergus, Garrett, Conor and Niall, sisters Mary and Geraldine, brothers Thomas, Michael and Joe, daughters-in-law Geraldine, Helene and Thaila, sons-in-law Padraig and John, grandchildren Katie, Aaron, Emily, Rachel, Conor, Daragh, Eoghan, Sadie, Ivy and Finn, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces cousins, relatives and his many friends.

Reposing at his home in Killenard, Portarlington on Friday from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday arriving St John's Church, Killenard for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Simon Walsh - Portlaoise and Mountrath

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of Simon Walsh of Fairgreen, Portlaoise, and formerly of Clonard, Mountrath.

Unexpectedly at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his heart-broken parents Martin and Mary, children Miya and Callum, partner Shauna, brothers Stephen and Lorcan, grandmother Mary, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke's Funeral Home, Mountrath, on St. Stephen's evening from 7pm with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Thursday to St. Fintan's Church, Mountrath, for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.

Jo Kelly - Crettyard

The death took place on Monday, December 24 of Jo Kelly (née McCall) of Mayo, Monavea, Crettyard, and formerly Clonmore, Co. Carlow.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Beloved wife of Peadar, much loved mother of Danielle, Samantha, Tracy, Charmaine, Hugh, Jeff and Annmarie adored grandmother of Kyran. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, mother Kathleen, grandchild, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home from 6pm on Thursday with prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon in The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patricia Power - Ballickmoyler

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of Patricia (Patty) Power (née Molamphy) of Coolnaugh, Ballickmoyler.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at The District Hospital, Carlow. Beloved wife of the late Jim, much loved mother of Kathleen, Margaret, Anne, Patricia, Michael and James (Jim) and cherished sister of Kathleen, Jimmy and the late Annie. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister, brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen from 2pm on Wednesday (St. Stephen’s Day) with removal at 6.30pm to St Abban’s Church, Killeen (via her residence) arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael Cullinane - Mountrath

The death took place on Sunday, December 23 of Michael Cullinane of Blackrock, Dublin and formerly of Mountrath.

Former NT at Ashford, Co. Wicklow and Drimnagh Castle. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in Newtownpark House, Blackrock, Co. Dublin Predeceased by his wife Phyllis, daughter Hilda and brother John. Much loved father of Fiona. Sadly missed by his sisters Mary and Rita, his brother Denis, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his family home on Wednesday from 4pm-8pm, with removal to St. John the Baptist Church, Blackrock for Funeral Mass at 10am on Thursday, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.
