Deaths in Laois - March 5, 2019

Paddy Killeen - Portlaoise

The death took place on Tuesday, March 5 of Paddy Killeen of Ridge Rd., Portlaoise. 

Peacefully in the care of Abbeyleix Community Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Rose. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Jim and Gene, sisters Mary and Betty, nephews, nieces, grandnephew, grandnieces, relatives and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6.30pm, with rosary at 8.30pm. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 10am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. 

Paddy Hickey - Rathdowney

The death took place on Monday, March 4 of Paddy Hickey of Quigley Park, Rathdowney. 

Peacefully at his home. Paddy, predeceased by his beloved grandson Darren, his brothers Tommy and Georgie and his parents George and Margaret. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Elizabeth and his sons David, Brendan and Adrian, daughters-in-law Rachel and Noelle, his beloved grandchildren Darren, Josh, Vanessa, Keri-Ann, Jack and Grainne, his brothers and sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home this Tuesday evening from 4pm with rosary at 9pm and on Wednesday with rosary at 9pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in The Church Of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.

Marie Young - Durrow 

The death took place on Saturday, March 2 of Marie Young (née Delaney) of Firhouse, Dublin and formerly of Terenure and Durrow.

Peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of Orwell Healthcare, Rathgar. Beloved wife of the late Edward (Ted) and much loved mother of Martina, Brendan, Emer and Éamonn. Marie will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Gillian and Jennie, sons-in-law Conor and Geoff, her adored grandchildren Jonathan and his fiancée Noelle, Michael, Amy, Alex, Luke, Olivia, Eva, Harry, Iris and Eldan, brother Shem, sisters Breda, Sheila and Irene, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Marie will be reposing on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, 100 Terenure Road North.(Parking available in Public Car Park on Terenure Road North, just passed the Funeral Home). Removal on Wednesday morning to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Firhouse arriving for 10am Mass. Funeral afterwards to Durrow Cemetery, arriving at 1.30pm approximately. 

John Purcell - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Monday, February 25 of John Purcell of Tunduff, Abbeyleix. 

Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (nee Breen). Deeply regretted by his sons John and Tom, daughter Kathi, brothers, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in the Adoration Chapel adjoining the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday to the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary for 11.30am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
