Deaths in Laois - March 7, 2019

Philomena Taig - Portarlington

The death took place on Wednesday, March 6 of Philomena Taig of 14 Barrowview, Portarlington. 

Peacefully at home. Sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Martyn, family, relatives and close friends.

Reposing at her residence on Friday from 6pm till 9pm. Funeral service in Mount Jerome Crematorium Harolds Cross Dublin on Saturday at 2.30pm followed by cremation.

William Murphy - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Tuesday, March 5 of William Murphy of Knockbawn, Abbeyleix. 

Peacefully in the wonderful care of The Community Nursing Unit, Abbeyleix, surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband to Breda, loving father to Henrietta and Liz. William will be sadly missed by his wife and daughters, son-in-law Sean, extended family and friends.

Reposing at the Hospital Mortuary, Abbeyleix fron 6pm on Thursday evening with Rosary at 7pm followed by removal to St. Lazerian's Church, Knock, arriving approximately 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 10am followed by removal to Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin, for Private Cremation.

 Paddy Killeen - Portlaoise

The death took place on Tuesday, March 5 of Paddy Killeen of Ridge Rd., Portlaoise. 

Peacefully in the care of Abbeyleix Community Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Rose. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Jim and Gene, sisters Mary and Betty, nephews, nieces, grandnephew, grandnieces, relatives and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6.30pm, with rosary at 8.30pm. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 10am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. 

Paddy Hickey - Rathdowney

The death took place on Monday, March 4 of Paddy Hickey of Quigley Park, Rathdowney. 

Peacefully at his home. Paddy, predeceased by his beloved grandson Darren, his brothers Tommy and Georgie and his parents George and Margaret. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Elizabeth and his sons David, Brendan and Adrian, daughters-in-law Rachel and Noelle, his beloved grandchildren Darren, Josh, Vanessa, Keri-Ann, Jack and Grainne, his brothers and sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home this Tuesday evening from 4pm with rosary at 9pm and on Wednesday with rosary at 9pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in The Church Of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.
