Deaths in Laois - March 25, 2019

James Beere - Portlaoise

The death took place on Sunday, March 24 of James (Jim) Beere of Abbeyville, Arklow and Portlaoise. 

Former Christian Brother. Suddenly. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing partner Kathleen, her sons Martin, Kieran and Dermot, their partners Áine, Letitia and Bene, his brothers Paddy and Fr. Joe, his sister Kathleen and his twin sister Eileen, his adored grandchildren Áine, Shane, Sarah, Oscar, Rónan and Eimear, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 2pm until 8pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday morning at 9.30pm to St.’s Mary & Peter’s Church, arriving for Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St. Gabriel’s Cemetery.

Fintan Kealy - Borris-in-Ossory 

The death took place on Saturday, March 23 of Fintan (Finty) Kealy of Main Street, Borris-in-Ossory. 

Unexpectedly, at the Midlands Regonal Hospital Portlaoise. Beloved husband of Stella, and father of Brendan, Noeleen, Anne Marie, Brian and Catherine, sadly missed by his loving family, much loved grandchidren, Tom, Laura, Iarla, Ruairi, Jack, Maeve, and Fionn, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, sister Maura, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday afternoon from 2pm, with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St.Canice's Church, Borris-in-Ossory, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Derrinsallagh Cemetery, Borris-in-Ossory.

Annie Delaney - Timahoe

The death took place on Friday, March 22 of Annie Delaney (née Keegan) of Ballygormill, Timahoe.

Peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Paddy and children Kathleen and Charlie.

Annie will be sadly missed by her loving family, Sheila, Mairead, James, Pat, John, Brendan and Anne Marie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law Nora and Bernie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 Reposing at her home from 12 noon on Saturday with Rosary at 8pm. Reposing at her home from 12 noon to 4.30pm on Sunday. House strictly private after 4.30pm please.

Her remains will arrive at the Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska, at 7pm Sunday evening. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in St. Michael's Cemetery, Timahoe.

Clare Laherty - Errill

The death took place on Friday, March 22 of Clare Laherty (née Williams) of Whiteswall, Galmoy and late of Rossmore, Errill.

Peacefully, at home in the tender care of her family and her home care team. Clare, predeceased by her dear daughter Anna, beloved wife of Tony and much loved mother of Sinéad, Tim and Sarah, sadly missed by her husband and children, sisters Mary, Ina, Catherine and Margaret, mother-in-law Addie, aunts, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home on Sunday from 3pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Assumption, Galmoy, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick Hayden - Stradbally

The death took place on Thursday, March 21 of Patrick (Paddy) Hayden of 12 Church Avenue, Stradbally. 

Peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise in the company of his devoted family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret and daughter Kathleen. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his family, daughters, Theresa, Mary and Elizabeth, sons John and Pat, sister Theresa, brother John, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home from 2pm Saturday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm on Sunday night. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12 noon in The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, followed by interment in Oakvale Cemetery. 

Anne MacNulty-Farrell - Durrow 

The death took place on Thursday, March 21 of Anne MacNulty-Farrell (née O'Brien) of Blackrock, Dublin and formerly of Durrow and Ex. ALT Cabin Crew).

In the Blackrock Clinic after a long and terrible illness, bravely borne. Beloved wife of Gerry, much loved mother of Aisling, Evan and Darragh. Hugely missed by her loving family, siblings Cathal, Marnie, Seamus, Joan, Sean and Geraldine, Kerri and granddaughter Freya, all her in-laws, stepchildren and step-grandchildren and by all her very many friends, cabin and flt crew.

Reposing at her home on Sunday between 5pm and 8pm for close friends and family only. Funeral Mass on Monday at 10am in Church of Our Lady of Assumption, Booterstown with cremation thereafter in Mount Jerome Crematorium.
