Deaths in Laois - March 28, 2019

John Conway Domoney - Ballyroan

The death took place on Wednesday, March 27 of John Conway Domoney of Delgany, Wicklow and formerly of Monkstown, Co. Dublin and Ballyroan.

In his 96th Year, after a short illness. Peacefully in the care of St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his wife Betty. Surrounded by his loving daughters Ann and Mary. Deeply missed by his daughters, sons-in-law Gavin and Pedro, grandaughters Caroline and Fiona, great-grandson Finley, friend Izabella and extended family.

Reposing in the Chapel of Adoration adjoining the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix from 6pm on Friday with removal at 7pm to St. Patricks Church, Ballyroan arriving 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery. 

Frances Doody - Portlaoise

The death took place on Tuesday, March 26 of Frances Doody of Ridge rd., Portlaoise. 

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted by her sister-in-law babs., nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, great-neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Thursday from 6.30pm with rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Friday in SS Peter and Paul’s Church. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Shane O'Neill - Portlaoise and Dublin

The death took place on Tuesday, March 26 of Shane O'Neill of Portlaoise and formerly of Clondalkin, after a long illness bravely borne.

 Surrounded by his family, in the care of the Donal Hollywood Ward of St. James's Hospital. Beloved son of Cathal and Agnes and loving brother of Sarah. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, sister Sarah, aunts, uncles, cousins and his close circle of friends.

Shane will be reposing at his home in Clondalkin on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am in The Sacred Heart Church, Sruleen, Clondalkin and afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Leslie Cooper - Pike of Rushall 

The death took place on Tuesday, March 26 of Leslie Cooper of Blackrock, Co. Dublin, formerly Templeogue and late of The Pike of Rushall.

At home, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Blanche, much loved and devoted father of Twila, Daryl, Bill and Colleen and loving father-in-law. Adored Grandad of Murray, Simon, Katie, Rebecca, Daniel, Ben, Robyn, Emily, Adam and Shona and great-grandfather of Louie. Brother of Floss and the late Vere and Gladys. He will be fondly remembered by family, friends and colleagues.

Reposing at home on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. Thanksgiving Service on Thursday at 3.30pm in Mount Jerome Crematorium Chapel, Harold’s Cross.

Nora Phelan - Tullacommon

The death took place on Sunday, March 24 of Nora Phelan (née Holohan) of Fairview, Dublin and late of Tullacommon.

Suddenly, but peacefully at home. Nora, beloved wife of the late Tom and treasured mother of Gerard, Mary, Fiona, James, John and Frank. Very sadly missed by her family, daughters-in-law June, Linda and Alison, grandchildren Thomas, Katie, Conall, Laura and Ella, sisters-in-law Maureen and Mary, cousins, extended family and wonderful friends.

Removal on Thursday evening from the Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand to Church of the Visitation, Fairview arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral on Friday morning after 11am Mass to Killasmeestia Church, Borris in Ossory arriving for prayers at 3pm approximately followed by burial in adjoining churchyard. 

Stephen O'Neill - Dublin and Laois 

The death took place on Sunday, March 24 of Stephen O'Neill of Old Bawn, Tallaght and Laois.

Suddenly. Beloved son of Anne and Seán and dear brother of Yvonne, Áine and the late Sinead. He will be sadly missed by his family, his father’s wife Dawn and her daughter Marie, nieces Gabrielle, Isabelle and Kayla, nephew Cruze, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Tallaght Village on Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Thursday to the Church of St. Martin de Porres, Old Bawn arriving for 10am Funeral Mass and afterwards to Newlands Cross Cemetery.
