Deaths in Laois - April 5, 2019

Brendan Dollard - Borris-in-Ossory 

The death took place on Friday, April 5 of Brendan Dollard of Castle Ave, Derrin, Borris-in-Ossory. 

Peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Breda (Whelan), cherished father of Brendan jr. (Sammy), Paul and Gordanna, sadly missed by his family, grandchildren, brothers Liam, Paul, Kevin, Oliver, Joe, and Paddy, sisters Lily and Mary (Dunne), extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on Friday from 8pm, with Rosary at 10pm. Rosary on Saturday evening at 5.30p.m. followed by Removal to St. Canice's Church, Borris-in-Ossory arriving at 6.50pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday morning at 11am, followed by burial in Derrinsallagh Cemetery, Borris-in-Ossory.

John O'Meara - Errill

The death took place on Thursday, April 4 of John O'Meara of Errill village. 

Peacefully at Our Lady's Hospice Harolds Cross, Dublin. John, sadly mourned by his brother Michael and sister-in-law Lucy, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.

Reposing at O'Sullivan's Funeral Home, Rathdowney on Saturday evening from 4pm with rosary at 8.30. Funeral Mass on Sunday in the Church of Our Lady, Queen of The Universe, Errill at 12.30 followed by burial in Errill Cemetery.

Bridie O'Brien - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, April 4 of Bridie O'Brien of 15 New Road, Portlaoise. 

In Naas Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted by her daughters Margaret, Theresa and Elizabeth, sons William and Richard, predeceased by her son John (Horsey), grandchildren and great grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, partners, relatives and friends.

Rosary this Friday in her home at 9pm. Memorial Mass at 12.30 on Sunday in St Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise. Bridie's remains will be donated to Trinity College Body of Science. 

Annie Newman - Rathdowney

The death took place on Thursday, March 4 of Annie Newman (née Hennessey) of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise and formerly Moore Street, Rathdowney.

Peacefully in the care of the nurses and staff of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Annie, in her 101st year. Sadly mourned by her sister Bernadette (Smeaton), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends and her dear friend Phil Deegan.

Reposing at O' Sullivan's funeral home, Rathdowney on Friday evening from 5pm with funeral prayers at 6pm followed by removal to The Church Of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am followed by burial in Rathdowney Local Cemetery.
