Deaths in Laois - April 15, 2019

Elizabeth O'Connor - Ballybrittas

The death took place on Sunday, April 14 of Elizabeth (Lil) O'Connor (née Meehan) of Kilbracken, Ballybrittas and formerly Tierhogar Portarlington. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Loving wife of the late Kevin. Deeply regretted by her loving sons, daughters, brothers, sisters , grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends

Reposing at her residence on Monday with Removal at 7pm arriving the Sacred Heart Church Rath at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St John's Cemetery, Killenard.

Anthony Tobin - Mountrath 

The death took place on Sunday, April 14 of Anthony Tobin, late of Woodbrook, Mountrath. 

Unexpectedly. Predeceased by his parents George and Alice, brother George, sadly missed by his family, sisters Marie, Kathleen, Betty, Esther, Alice, Bridget, and Caroline, brothers Michael, Jimmy, Paul and Davy, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Paul and Doreen's home at No.6 Woodbrook on Tuesday afternoon from 2pm, with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St. Fintan's Church, Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.

Martin Foley - Vicarstown

The death took place on Sunday, April 14 of Martin Foley of Tonafarna, Vicarstown and formerly of Monglass, Caim, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. Died peacefully, in the care of the matron and staff at the General Hospital Portlaoise.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lily, daughter Caitriona, sons Kevin, Shaun, Martin, David and Paul, daughters-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence on Monday from 4pm with rosary at 8.30pm. Arriving at the Church of the Assumption, Vicarstown, on Tuesday for Mass at 3pm. Burial immediately afterwards in Moyanna Cemetery. House private on Tuesday please.

John Delaney - Clonad

The death took place on Saturday, April 13 of Jack (John) Delaney of Clonbar Clonad, Portlaoise. 

Peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family. Deeply regretted by his wife Betty, brother Joe, sister Breda (McDonald), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 3pm on Sunday with Rosary at 8pm. Reposal on Monday with Rosary at 8pm. Removal to St. Fintan's Church, Raheen for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Joe Doyle - Portlaoise 

The death took place on Friday, April 12 of Joe Doyle of Maryborough Village, Portlaoise and late of Monaseed, Gorey, Co. Wexford. Peacefully with his loving partner Clare by his side. Deeply regretted by his loving partner and best friend Clare Delaney, sister Nuala, brothers Seamus, Dave, Paddy, Mick, Aidan and Johnny and the late Maurice, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Saturday from 4pm with prayers at 8pm. Reposing again on Sunday with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Monday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Patrick White - Abbeyleix

The death took place on Thursday, April 11 of Patrick Esmonde (Pat) White of Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow and formerly of Abbeyleix.

Peacefully at the Blackrock Clinic. Beloved husband of Jo, adored father of Helen, Zita and Patrick, cherished grandfather of Charlotte, Fintan and Beatriz, dearly loved brother of Zita, Monica and the late Reg and beloved father-in-law of Kevin.

Reposing at his home on Tuesdayfrom 5pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilquade followed by private cremation.
