Sean Hunt - Portarlington

The death took place on Saturday, March 19 of Sean Hunt of 7 St Joseph's Terrace, Portarlington, and formerly of Kilcavan, Geashill.

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Loving husband of the late Dolores. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Pauline, Yvonne, Sheila and Dolores, brother Donie, grandchildren Sean, Fionn, Yasmin, Cameron, Moray, Ali and Emma, sons-in-law Donal, Doug, Derek and James, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence on Saturday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 9pm. Reposing on Sunday afternoon from 2pm with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:30am arriving St Michael's Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery Portarlington.

Helen Whyte - Emo

The death took place on Friday, March 18 of Helen Whyte (née McEvoy) of Killimy, Emo. 

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family while in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Slieve Bloom Ward at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, adoring son Paul and darling grandson Tiernan. Sadly missed by her loving family Deirdre (Conroy), Orla (Whelan), Michael, Ailish (Mahon), John, Caroline (Treacy), Lorna (Glesson), Marie (Whyte), sister Bridie (Donegan), brother Billy, grandchildren Emmet, Niamh, David, Laura, Michael (jnr), Paul, Katie, Sarah, Michael, Clodagh, Aoibhinn, Jack, Ciara, Grace and Maebh, sons-in-law John Conroy Pat Whelan, Brendan Mahon, Fionán Treacy, Rob Glesson and Ian Pearson, daughters-in-law Jo (Coady), Eva (Delaney), nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Sunday from 4pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal from her residence on Monday morning at 11:20am arriving St Paul's Church Emo for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Dr. Liam Hanniffy - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, March 17 of Dr. Liam Hanniffy MB DPM FRCPsych of Pine View, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise and formerly of Creagh, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.

Peacefully, at his home surrounded by his loving family, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Ann, loving father of John, Ann and Dermot, father-in-law of Sandra and Emily and adoring grandfather of John Óg, Aoife, Elizabeth and Amelia. Dearest brother of Ollie and the late Amelia (Faulkner), Dr. Ignatius (Iggy), Lily (Dillon), Seán, Maureen (Sr. Kieran), Fr. Mannix S.D.B, Fr. Brendan S.M.A., Nancy (Copinger) and Dr. Patricia (Patty). He will be sadly missed by his loving family, nieces, nephews, relatives, former colleagues at St.Fintan’s Hospital, the Midland Health Board and HSE as well as a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the chapel, St. Fintan’s Hospital, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, R32 XEN0, on Saturday, 19th of March from 4pm to 6pm. Arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Creagh, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, H53 EH93, on Sunday, 20th for Requiem Mass at 12pm followed by burial afterwards in Creagh Cemetery.

Mary Fullerton - Portlaoise

The death took place on Thursday, March 17 of Mary Fullerton of Glenbarrow, Portlaoise. 

Peacefully, in the care of the staff and nurses at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents Catherine and Edward. Much loved by sister Sarah, brother Eddie, sister-in-law Debbie, brother-in-law Charlie and nephew James. Sadly missed by all her extended family, friends and neighbours.

Peadar Phelan - Ballaghmore

The death took place on Thursday, March 17 of Peadar Phelan of Ballaghmore, Borris-in-Ossory. 

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.

Pre-deceased by his parents Timothy and Kathleen and brother Paddy. Deeply regretted by his hearbroken wife Marjorie, brothers Eamon, Timmy, Donie and Anthony, sisters Breda, Ann and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunt Maggie, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives, good neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing in Tierney's Funeral Home, Roscrea, on Saturday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Private removal from his residence on Sunday morning at 11.45am arriving at St. Molua's Church, Ballaghmore, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael-Joe Dooley - Pike of Rushall and Ballybrophy

The death took place on Wednesday, March 16 of Michael - Joe Dooley of Cashel, Pike of Rushall, and formerly of The Green Roads, Ballybrophy.

Unexpectedly at his home. Deeply regretted by his loving Parents Paddy and Sheila, sister Rosemary, brothers Tony, Patrick, Declan, Justin and Mark, aunts, uncles, brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his parents residence the Green Roads, Ballybrophy (EirCode R32 Y583) this Saturday afternoon from 2pm until 8pm with rosary in the house at 5.30pm

Removal this Sunday morning (March 20th.) at 10.30am to St. Canice's Church Borris in Ossory for Funeral Mass at 11am, with burial immediately afterwards in Derrinsallagh Cemetery, Borris in Ossory. (current Covid 19 restrictions apply i.e. wearing of face masks and refrain from handshaking).
