Laois County Council is to hold a site meeting at a house that suffered floods last winter, to work out how to prevent a repeat.

Cllr Ollie Clooney has asked for work to alleviate flooding at Sullivan's House, Tubberboe, Durrow.

He tabled a motion on it to the October meeting of Mountmellick Borris-in-Ossory Municipal District.

"There was a lot of flooding last year. We certainly don't want another winter with the same thing," he said.

Cllr John King seconded the motion.

Engineer Rory O'Connell confirmed that a meeting would take place in mid October on-site to inspect and discuss the issue.
