An event is taking place in Mountrath on Tuesday, February 25 which will showcase the supports available for businesses and individuals who want to move towards a greener economy.
Taking place from 10am to 2pm at the Liath Luachra Conference Suite, Bloom HQ, Mountrath, this free event will provide valuable insights into funding, mentoring, climate action initiatives, and training opportunities.
Organised as part of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway for Just Transition programme, this initiative is designed to highlight the supports available to communities and enterprises in regions affected by the transition to a green economy. The Just Transition Fund aims to facilitate economic diversification, job creation, and social inclusion by providing financial and advisory support to enterprises, workers, and communities adapting to a low-carbon future. In the Midlands, this programme is helping local businesses and organisations access the resources necessary to thrive in a sustainable economy.

Laois Local Enterprise Office – Business development supports, mentoring, and funding opportunities.
Laois Partnership – Community and rural development initiatives.
SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) – Energy efficiency and climate action supports.
The Wheel – Capacity building and support for nonprofit organisations.
Laois Climate Action Team – Guidance on local climate initiatives and sustainability projects.
LOETB (Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board) – Training and upskilling opportunities.
Regenerative Tourism Officer – Supports for sustainable tourism development in the region.
