Laois County Council invites Laois locals to share their thoughts on the county's Biodiversity Action Plan.

On Thursday September 25, all are invited to Abbeyleix Heritage House to hear about 100% funding for biodiversity projects across communities.

Laois County Council Biodiversity Officer Ms Lisa Doyle will be on site for a facilitated discussion. Ms Doyle will discuss biodiversity issues in Laois, and advice on completing submissions.

Community Climate Action Officer Ms Karen Moore will be in attendance to share project ideas for biodiversity funding.

"We’re developing a Biodiversity Action Plan to protect and restore nature in our community — and we want your input in Abbeyleix and surrounding areas," organisers shared.

"Have your say on the future Biodiversity Action Plan for Laois. Share your ideas, concerns, and priorities to help us build a healthier environment for people and wildlife."

Participants will also hear about funding available to community groups for biodiversity projects under the Community Climate Action Fund.

"This funding is 100% and also covers other climate positive projects like sustainable travel, reuse and repair, locally grown food, community building retro fits and renewable energy," they continued.

"Don't miss out on the chance to have your say on Laois' Biodiversity Action Plan and hear about 100% funding for biodiversity projects in your community.

"Everyone welcome to drop in!" organisers finished.
