Meet the candidates: Seamus McDonald, Fianna Fail, Borris-Mountmellick

Seamus McDonald

Drummond, Rosenallis

Full time local representative

Fianna Fáil

Why have you decided to run?

I was first elected to Laois County Council in 1985 and returned in subsequent elections to date. The reason I am running again is to continue to represent my electoral area at County Council level and to be able to represent individual constituents at the various government departments and government agencies for the benefit of the area and the greater good of the individuals. "If I am re-elected then I will continue in my best effort to make a contribution to the people and the area I represent"

Why should people vote for you?

I hope people will vote for me to allow me to continue to promote my area under the various headings such as:

Fighting for our fair share of housing

Home Improvements

Infrastructural Investment such as roads, water, sewerage, amenity areas

To promote upgrading of facilities for the elderly and people with disabilities

To secure funding and promote upgrading of facilities for the elderly and people with disabilities"

What do you think is lacking in your area?

Rural Transport

What will you be campaigning for?

I’ll be campaigning for the betterment of resources in my area.

Rural Transport

Increased housing budget

Increased investment to fight rural crime
