Laois Local Election Q & A: Housing, health and local communities

Ben Brennan, candidate for the Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District

What are your priorities?

My priorities are housing, health and communities.

What is the biggest issue facing your area?

Housing is the biggest issue in my area. Foreign nationals coming in and getting medical cards, the older generation who have been working all their lives and not qualifying for medical cards.

Why do you think you would make a good County Councillor?

I'm a good communicator and I listen and that's what you have to be able to do. You have to be able to listen to people and be willing to support and help them. That is my motto.

Ben Brennan is a candidate in the Graiguecullen Portarlington Municipal District. In the lead up to polling day on June 7 The Leinster Express / Laois Live will be featuring profiles on all 47 candidates vying for one of the 19 seats on Laois County Council.
