Electric Picnic organisers to seek 2023 licence from Laois County Council

Here we go again!  Electric Picnic 2018 tickets go on sale this week

Organisers of the Electric Picnic festival have announced their intention to apply to Laois County Council for a licence for 2023.

EP Republic Ltd are looking to hold the festival at Stradbally Hall Estate in Stradbally from Thursday, August 31 to Sunday, September 3 inclusive.

This year’s line up includes Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish and midland man Niall Horan and organisers expect 70,000 revellers to attend daily. 

“EP Republic Ltd will be applying to Laois County Council within the forthcoming two week period for a Licence to hold an outdoor musical event in accordance with part XVI of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended),” the notice states. 

“The event will comprise of live entertainment performances to be held at the lands at Stradbally Hall Estate, Stradbally, Co Laois on Thursday 31st August, Friday 1st September, Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September 2023. General camping and car parking will be provided on adjoining lands from Friday 1st September at 07:00hrs to Monday 4th September at 16:00hrs. 

Campervan, family campervan and early entry camping will be accessible for up to a maximum of 20,000 people from Thursday, August 31st to  August at 16:00hrs to Monday 4th September at 16:00hrs. The anticipated number of audience attending the event is 70,000 people each day," the notice states. 

The application for the licence may be inspected at the offices of Laois County Council during office hours or online at www.laois.ie for a period of five weeks from the date of receipt of the application by Laois County Council.
