Comedians Russell Howard and Katherine Ryan to headline Electric Picnic comedy line-up

Katherine Ryan, Ardal O'Hanlon and Russell Howard among acts.

Comedy fans are in for a treat as Electric Picnic has just announced their comedy lineup with Russell Howard and Katherine Ryan among this year's acts. 


The festival's comedy arena will also see Ardal O'Hanlon, Deirdre O’Kane and Emma Doran take to the stage in Stradbally in just a few weeks time. 


MC will be Karl Spain who will introduce the impressive line-up including Iain Stirling, Maisie Adam, Jarlath Regan, Garron Noone, Enya Martin, Diona O'Doherty, Paddy McDonnell, Eric Lalor, Bernard Casey, Kevin McGahern, Patrick McDonnell, Fred Cooke, Shane Clifford, John Colleary, Paul Marsh, Fred Cooke, Damian Clark, Anna Clifford and Joe Dowlin.


Meanwhile Sofia Wren, Michael Sable, Stephen Ryan, Sharon Mannion, Aoife Dunne, John Doran, Ali Fox and Peter McGann will all be making their Electric Picnic debuts. 


Electric Picnic takes place a fortnight earlier for this year, it's 20th anniversary event. It kicks off on Thursday August 15 for early entry arrivals, and lasts until Monday, August 19. The 75,000 capacity event is the biggest arts and music festival in Ireland, with tickets sold out.

The Comedy Stage opens at 1.30pm on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday,  August 18 and runs until 9pm each day.
