Electric Picnic organisers have slowly teased picnickers with their lineup announcements, watching as great excitement builds ahead of this year's Laois festival.

The latest lineup for the picnic's iconic Hazelwood stage promises the best of music and entertainment, through the day and into the night.

Organisers have also shared all you need to know on this year's Gaeltacht campsite.

What performances will take place on the Hazelwood stage?

With music, poetry, comedy and performance art taking place all weekend, the Hazelwood stage shines a spotlight on Irish talent. This is where likeminded people congregate to warm their hands over the fire and enjoy all that Hazelwood has to offer.

Local singers, the Stradbally Community Choir, will take to the Hazelwood stage this August, alongside special guest Mick Mc Loughlin.

The choir formed in 2024, featuring members of all ages and backgrounds.

Picnickers can also catch Liam O’Connor on the Hazelwood stage, who holds the Guinness Record for the fastest fingers on an accordion or Misleor who will be showcasing music from Ireland’s Travelling Community.

Plus music from Sacred Sites, Julie Goo, An Galar Dub, Rageire, The  Alcove - Kiss my Grass, Electric Youth, Cahercalla Rebellion, Aine Deane, Coscan Fogues, Strive Theatre, The Crows Old Gold and DJ Nemo.

Picnickers are invited to get lost in the Hazelwood Afterdark, where they will be spellbound by songs and stories as Gaeilge.

After fall of dark, bilingual bands and musicians of every genre will enchant the crowds with music - from Éire agus Chulainn’s traditional offering to Dysania’s “bog-rock”, and from IMLÉ’s hip-hop to Earthmover’s post-rock shoegaze.

Across the weekend musicians such as John Spillane, Bláithín Mhic Chana and Piarais Ó Lorcáin, Lisa Morray, Jessie and the Veil, Lost West, Earthmover, Little Kings, IMLÉ, Dysania, Fianna Bána, DJ Ferdilicious, and Éire agus Chulainn will take to the gorgeous stage nestled in the festival’s leafy forest.

The Hazelwood or An Chollchoill provides sanctuary for those who seek fairytales, magical musical offerings, and enchanting company.

The crowds will be moved to dance under the starlit woods by Lost West and DJ Ferdilicious, or invited to warm their hands by the fireside as voices like those of Bláithín Mhic Chana and Piarais Ó Lorcáin serenade them in this secret spot between Fishtown and Salty Dog.

Many of the bands on stage this year have taken part in the Glór Ár Linne development scheme, run by Raidió Rí-Rá with the support of Dublin City Council and Creative Ireland, which provided workshops and entry-points to the music industry for up-and-coming artists creating music as Gaeilge.

These bands include Jessie and the Veil, Earthmover, Lisa Murray, Little Kings, and Éire agus Chulainn.

Conradh na Gaeilge and Raidió Rí-Rá are proud to present this schedule of Irish language bands and musicians each night from 19:00 - 00:00 Friday to Sunday at Electric Picnic with support from Festival Republic.

"Our all-female lineup returns on Thursday 28th August for the early entry campers with performances from some of Ireland’s up and coming comedians and songwriters all under the dutiful MC duties of Ailish McCarty! Including: Liv Masett, Roisin Kelly, Aoife Breathnach, The Kates plus more to be announced!" organisers shared.

What does the Gaeltacht campsite offer?

As well as music in the Hazelwood, campers are invited to pitch their tents in the company of other Irish language speakers at the official Gaeltacht Campsite, which has been given further support by Festival Republic this year.

The campsite is bigger and better than ever this year with extra facilities and a community space where workshops will be held over the weekend. There will be continued emphasis on keeping the area clean and leaving no trace at the end of the festival, to keep the site - and environment - clean!

"As the biggest music and arts festival in Ireland, it is important to us that the Irish language has a place at the heart of Electric Picnic," explained Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic.

"Working with Conradh na Gaeilge and Raidió Rí-Rá over the years, we have seen a rise in the number of Irish language artists who perform at Electric Picnic, and this year we’re also seeing a huge increase in the number of people staying in the Gaeltacht campsite at the festival."

How can I register for the Gaeltacht campsite?

Conradh na Gaeilge invite Electric Picnic ticket holders to stay in the Gaeltacht campsite for the weekend. This site is limited in numbers and is for those who wish to spend the weekend chatting with and meeting people as Gaeilge. Ticéid ar fáil trí Ticketmaster. Is trí bhanda riosta breise amháin a bheidh rochtain ar an láthair. Spásanna teoranta ar fáil.

"We’re thrilled to be back in the Collchoill or Hazelwood again this year, bringing amazing musicians and magic to the night-time events there," said Emma Ní Chearúil, Station Manager at Raidió Rí-Rá.

"This year’s lineup is incredibly diverse and we think it’s an accurate reflection of the range of talent and genres that ‘Irish language music’ encapsulates today," she said.

"We’re also grateful to Festival Republic who have been so enthusiastic in their support for the Collchoill Afterdark and the Gaeltacht Campsite, helping us grow and develop both spaces to new heights this year," Ms Ní Chearúil finished.

Over 80,000 picnickers expected to descend upon Stradbally this August 29 to 31.
